This region is of immense strategic value to China and BD. Will be of paramount importance should there be a Sino-Indian war prompted by the West. Also would be vital when China decides to retrieve S China and aid the NE peoples to free themselves.

There is a regional integration going on through India's North East, via BD and Myanmar upto Vietnam and also ASEAN countries.
India and Japan are working closely on this project. This is India's look East initiative which will benifit the people of those regions.

But the publicity on par with Chinese silk route is not given though.

What are you talking about mate? Bangladesh is completely controlled by RAW. We will soon have SAARC minus Pakistan. Burma too will probably be part of this grouping. In foreign policy, the tack has changed from engaging with Pakistan to diplomatically isolating Pakistan, especially within South Asia. And, despite media talk there is really no Agenda against China, unless border issues heat up. As long as status quo is maintained and players respect international law, there is no problem.
