If true, rather stupid move by the PA. More intelligent adversaries such as the British to the Germans would have not responded exactly and done so as if by chance. When the British cracked ENIGMA, they purposely sacrificed troops and resources along with chances for advantage to the Germans to ensure that the Germans did not figure out that their code had been cracked. That way when the time to actually use the full potential of the crack came in the Allies were able to oursmart the Germans.. the same way a more intelligent PA leadership would have moved some units and kept others back, as if acting on field recon rather than a leak; this would have kept the mole inside the Indian DGMO safe and not lost a valuable asset who would have been useful later. Still, what better to expect from part time property dealers.

PA deployment was what triggered the suspicion, which was immediatley noticed ..which points out that there's a counter mole in PA too..who wasn't identified.

Because I dont like lying.

How do we know that there was a Mole in the PA? The IA has superior surveillance assets compared to PA, maybe it just saw it happening

@janon - refer to your earlier interest in how this happened

"The Army managed to identify the “mole”, who was a senior officer who had leaked the operational details to ISI. He was court-martialled."

". I cannot reveal the steps taken publicly, but steps were taken. It is almost a year, but whenever information is leaked, the system will be corrected.”"

Yeah...maybe it saw...just an assumption going by the news source that the counter deployment was immediately noticed.

"But Antony chose not to give details.

“I do not comment…I don’t want to say anything now”.

Former Army chief General Bikram Singh also preferred not to talk about the incident.

“I retired a year ago, check with the Army headquarters,” he said."

This is how matters like this should be dealt with when the media comes in. Too many motor mouths otherwise.

Oscar,

I was about to write something similar---. That was a knee jerk reaction on the part of pak army general staff---. You have to protect the assets at all costs---.

Now---OTOH India might have chosen to sacrifice a scapegoat---or they were in the process of flushing out a mole and that is how they found him / her---so----the leak may have been intentional.

Superb job by ISI. but PA was stupid enough to reveal it through their own counter movement. Happens all the time i guess.

But still Indian Army, MOD etc should be more alert. Else in a war like scenario these leaks can result in huge loss of life. :hitwall: :coffee:

General Singh and Antony had discussed the troop movement on February 15, 2014 at 11 am and lasted for an hour. The meeting took place in Antony's room.
So was it General Bikram Singh? NO!
Was it the walls? (As they say walls have ears!) NO!
Was it bugging devices? NO! there are none in the Defence Ministers office.
Then whodunnit? That leaves Sir Antony himself! :buba_phone:

Nuff said! :D

This is actually all bullshit! It was a normal army exercise in Rajasthan and J&K which is a yearly phenomenon. Not a redeployment of troops to invade Pakistan!!!! Nothing to write home about, but the media went all berserk as usual.
