They claimed that they have killed once before. We have to wait and see if the report is true or propaganda news...

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani intelligence officials say they have intercepted militant radio communications indicating Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakimullah Mehsud may have been killed in a recent US drone strike.

The officials said Thursday they overheard Taliban militants in around a half a dozen intercepts discussing whether their chief, Hakimullah Mehsud, was killed on Jan. 12 in the North Waziristan tribal area.

Some militants confirmed Mehsud was dead, and one criticised others for talking about the issue over the radio.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters.

Pakistani Taliban spokesman Asimullah Mehsud denied the group's leader was killed and said he was not in the area where the drone strike occurred. (AP)

I think ISI did allowed drone attacks after recent visit of Pasha to Qatar but if this strike has taken out Hakeem Ullah Mehsud then it would be prudent to assume that this time ISI is picking targets and calling in drones.

But i would like to see if this news is true ... in the past too we heard many times about his death but every time it turned out as false... so wait and see.

Fantastic news if true !!! The biggest thorn in the Pakistani hide has been removed. Surely now, Pakistan needs to open the supply route for this riddance.

Most probably ISI nailed him down. The news somehow leaked to Jeo News and they did the painting for the US with the drone-brush, hence proving Pakistani Media is making a worth of those 80 Millions dollars which was invested by US to furnish their image in Pakistan.

Not confirmed - intercepts did not mention HM by name, but were using a recognized code word - for the infamous takfiri - confirmation can come by 2 ways, we have his familial DNA, and can confirm if we can find his remains, two - if and when a succession contest begins.

But I am fairly optimistic that the mass murderer is dead this time.

Dead or not, they should confirm the kill before making any such news public.

You don't want another terrorist coming back from the dead.
