Syed Ashraful Islam

Star Online Report

While attacks on Bangladeshis continue near the Indo-Bangla border, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam said on Saturday that the government is not worried over the developments.

“The government cannot put aside everything and only think about what’s going on there on the border,”
Ashraf, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League, told reporters in the afternoon hours after Indian border guards gunned down another Bangladeshi cattle trader.

Syed Ashraf was talking after the orientation programme of the newly-appointed district administrators and chief executive officers held at National Institute of Local Government auditorium at Agargaon in the capital.

All the incidents which are taking place in the bordering areas have many things involved. The government cannot hold trials of all these, he noted.

“Incidents of cattle and drug smuggling and cattle lifting are taking place always. These are nothing new. These were there in the past, are now and will be in the future. The government is not worried about these at all.”

Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee

Star Online Report

With a video footage showing Indian border guards brutally torturing a Bangladeshi still a major topic of talks across the country, India on Saturday said the media should not “blow it out of proportions”.

“Such incidents often take place at the border. There is no need to blow them out of proportions,” Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters in Kolkata, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

He said governments of India and Bangladesh would resolve the issue through discussions.

A video footage of December 9 aired by several Indian TV channels over the past few days showed some men in BSF fatigue brutally torturing a Bangladeshi national after stripping and tying him to a stick near the Murshidabad border.

The BSF has already suspended eight of its personnel in connection with the incident and has ordered a full-fledged probe into it.

The foreign ministry of Bangladesh has already protested the “violent action” by the Indian BSF and wanted India to thoroughly probe the incident.

Syed Ashraf is an Indian dalal. If india asks BAL to jump; BAL would reply by asking "how high master?", this RAW driven BAL government should be driven away.
