Strategic Nuclear Forces (SNF)

- Entered in the combat-ready naval forces two missile submarines of strategic purpose (SSBN) project 955 "Borey" - K-550 "Alexander Nevsky" K-551 "Vladimir Monomakh". Facilities marine strategic nuclear forces with modern weapons was 56%.

- Total SNF in 2015 were delivered 35 new intercontinental ballistic missiles, causing equipment "nuclear triad" of strategic nuclear forces with modern arms has reached 55%.

Aerospace forces

August 1 on the basis of the Air Force (Air Force) and the troops Aerospace Defense (VVKO) created a new branch of the armed forces - the Air-Space Forces (VKS).   • Were upgraded 11 fighter-interceptors MiG-31BM and one airborne command post IL-80. Troops EKR received 90 anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes, 208 radar systems.
  • As a result, the share of modern weapons in video conferencing has reached 52%.
Land Forces (CB)

In 2015, the Armed Forces in the NE 8 new teams formed for various purposes. The troops received:

  • 2 brigade sets of missile complexes "Iskander M";
  • One thousand. 172 pieces of equipment, including tanks (including modified T-72B3) and other armored vehicles;
  • 148 rocket and artillery systems;
  • 2 thousand. 292 car for different purposes.
The level of equipment with modern weapons CB reached 35%.

May 9, 2015 in the Victory Parade in Moscow were officially presented promising military equipment - tanks T-14 and T-15 infantry fighting vehicles to heavy tracked unified platform "Armata", armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles on the track platform "Kurganets-25" on the APC wheel platform "Boomerang" and self-propelled howitzers "Coalition-SV".

Navy (Navy)
  • The Navy received 8 new surface warships and 16 support vessels. In the Navy included:
  • Two diesel-electric submarines of Project 06363 - B-265 "Krasnodar" and B-262 "Stary Oskol";
  • Two small missile ship project 21631 - "Green Dol" and "Serpukhov";

The level of equipment of the Navy with modern ships reached 39%.

Objectives for 2016
In 2016 the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation plans to:

Put in the NE two brigade sets of missile complexes "Iskander-M" and multiple launch rocket systems "Tornado-S", as well as a set of anti-aircraft missile brigade complex "Buk-M3";

  • Rearm 6 battalions SW on new tanks and infantry fighting vehicles;
  • Put in videoconferencing and aircraft of the Navy more than 200 new and upgraded models of aircraft;
  • Rearm 5 anti-aircraft missile regiment in the anti-aircraft missile system S-400;
  • Build group of United Space Systems to launch another device of the system;
  • Put on alert 3 radar station - "Voronezh-DM" Yeniseysk and Barnaul and "Voronezh-M" in Orsk;
  • Enter the Navy two multi-purpose submarines, seven surface warships

In 2016 the Russian Armed Forces are about to receive a new and deadly addition to their arsenal – Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system (NATO reporting name: SA-17 Grizzly).

The new type of missile used by the launcher is more compact than the ordnance used by its predecessors, allowing Buk-M3 to carry a payload of six instead of four missiles. At the same time, the new missile outclasses previous models in terms of its technical characteristics: it can destroy any type of airborne target in existence, can be used against naval and ground targets, and is extremely resistant to electronic countermeasures.


The Buk-M3 carries its payload in launch containers instead of positioning missiles on external rails. This new feature significantly reduces the time between shots as the launcher no longer has to rotate and elevate the missiles in the direction of a new target: the rockets are launched vertically and adjust their trajectory midair.

The new radar employed by the Buk-M3 allows it to detect airborne flying at extremely low altitudes (5 meters and higher), and increases the maximum destruction range of the weapon to 70 kilometers. The tele-thermal imaging target designator used by the launcher allows it to detect and track targets regardless of the time of day and weather conditions.


According to Zvezda TV channel, a division of Buk-M3 can simultaneously track and engage up to 36 targets, with the probability of hitting a target with one missile reaching a 0.9999 percent certainty. The weapon system can also intercept and destroy airborne targets flying at a speed of 3 kilometers per second (for example, the speed of a missile fired by a US-made MGM-140 ATACMS surface-to-air missile launcher doesn’t exceed 1.5 kilometers per hour).

The first Buk-M3 divisions are expected to enter service this year as part of the ongoing general rearmament program, and will provide a considerable boost to Russia’s already formidable anti-air capabilities.

YEKATERINBURG, Russia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Russian infantry fighting vehicle maker Kurganmashzavod has filed a bankruptcy petition with the Kurgan Arbitration Court.

Kurganmashzavod, also referred to as KMZ, is Russia's only enterprise that manufactures infantry fighting vehicles.

Yes, the current private management tries to blackmail to force the state to pick up the enterprise itself. Otherwise, it will pass into the possession of "Basic Element".

if im right "tohh" stands for tonne so how can a twin engined transporter carry 80 tonnes? also will the 160 and the 240 tonners be based of the 124/224 or will it be a blank sheet design?

The same way how the twin engine A350 flying :-)
Thanks to composite materials, the new planes have less weight and can carry more useful payload.
