قایق دفاع ساحلی کلاس 65 پا به شماره بدنه 258 در تاریخ دهم فروردین ماه سال 1366 و ساعت 16:20 دقیقه به وقت محلی، در خور موسی مورد حمله هوایی .قرار گرفت و تاریخ ایران زمین، جاودانه شد

متاسفانه هیچ اثری از تکه پاره های واحد و پیکر شهدای آن هرگز یافته نشد. از مواهب خدمت در آب های بیکران یک مورد همین احتمال است که از انسان پس از شهادت هیچ اثری پیدا نشود. بعد از این ضایعه شش تابوت خالی مزین به پرچم ایران که روی هر کدام یک کلاه فرم سفید گذاشته شده بود تحویل خانواده های این عزیزان گردید.

Are are there any outstanding books (also translated into English) that came out of this war on either side? I am specifically talking of three genres:

a) War Fiction
b) Memoirs by combatants
c) Histories written by scholars

That would be great if someone who is a professional military historian could write a book in English about that war. Almost nothing available in America.

Yeah, considering that as 'classic' nation-on- nation conflicts it was one of the bloodiest post WWII (or was it the bloodiest?) in terms of casualties, surely there must be space for a few English language military histories, either in translation or the original.

Anyone knows (good) books from personal POV of a soldier in the Iran-Iraq war, of either sides in English or Arabic of Persian. Whilst I won't be able to read last 2 due to bad Arabic reading skills I am still interested in knowing.

I don't mean a dramatic version of it, more like experiences of the war itself. None of us here are from that generation, our parents are but they often don't even want to share stories or talk about it, that's the thing in my case.

Well, it is all dramatic for us, Iranians.
Saddam hit Iraqi people in Halabche and Iranian cities with chemical weapons, so i don't think that the dictator represented the will of Iraqi people.
If Saddam attacked Israel instead, nowadays he could be our hero LOL but what he did , kept both countries at least 20 years away from civil progress. Still our cities have mementos of the 8 years war. Especially Khuzestan, our Arab brothers in that province hardly suffered from the war.
It is all dramatic for us, Iranians.
