FNSS Awarded New Contract to Deliver Pars Wheeled Armored Vehicles

Turkey’s leading land based defense systems company FNSS, has achieved another success with its PARS Wheeled Armored Vehicle (WAV) family. Recently FNSS was awarded a contract to supply the PARS WAV to a new customer.

The contract is already effective and FNSS has started to fulfill its obligations under this new contract which includes delivery of a series of vehicles in various configurations. The exact customer, vehicle types, total budget and additional details will remain confidential.

In 2011 FNSS has achieved the highest export value among the Turkish defense industry based on a single contract with the Malaysian AV8 program.

“This latest success for the PARS vehicle family, which has become a world standard in 8x8 and 6x6 wheeled armored vehicles, has once again highlighted the status already achieved by FNSS on the international market. In competition alongside the world’s other top companies, FNSS has once again demonstrated the real quality and value of its vehicles, securing the highest scores in both the technical and value domains. We will continue to maintain our customer’s satisfaction at the highest level by meeting the contract requirements in terms of th

@Hakan @Neptune So who you think is the coustomer ?

Some Middle-Eastern customer no doubt. Few years ago the Arma was also exported to an unknown country, turning out to be Bahrain. Though export to Ukraine is not out of the picture.

Well than I think this time it would be KSA. Turkey is making really good APC and IFV. Pakistan should buy them @Sulman Badshah @Tipu7

It will find customers in Middle East.
Highly unlikely Pakistan will buy them in high numbers in near future. Reason, bit expensive.
Though I wish to see Tulpar, PARS 8X8 or 4X4 in our arsenal.........
We are happy with M113, Maxproo, Dragoon APC........ we were buying Neural from Turkey, don't know what happened to that deal.......

The Nurol Ejder was to be produced in Pakistan right?
Might take some time to set up production lines.

Yes I think production lines are being set up and we would soon hear about production getting started.

Pakistan and Turkey really has a very unique brotherhood. İf Pakistan needs armored vechiles i think some solution can be found easly and that products versions (shaped for local needs) can be build cheaper in Pakistan. Specially i hope this about Altay mail battle tank. And Tulpar armored vechiles also.

Note: Modernised old T-55 purchase is good solution for Afganistan borders. But İndia borders need more sophisticated and modern versions. İsn't it?..

If We had listened him carefully We would hear the upcoming deal.
He has actually tried very hard to tell us all about.

I am a bit confused here... In UAE, FNSS compete with Otokar but UAE uses ACV-15s.
or tell me other competitions in the middle east that contains big armored combat vehicle producers plus another Turkish company in it other than FNSS. on top, the country in question had never been the customer of FNSS in the past ..(Qatar?)... or the customer is different non-middle east country than the one mentioned above article.

A Little Detail
-Al Jaber Group and FNSS of Turkey joined forces in 2011 to capture the potential requirements of the UAE Armed Forces, covering the full scale production of a wheeled armoured vehicle family (WAV) in the UAE as well as its complete logistical support.
-Candidate vehicles are expected to include the ARTEC Boxer (Germany), BAE Systems Land Systems (South Africa) RG41, FNSS Savunma Sistemleri Pars (Turkey), General Dynamics European Land Systems Piranha 5 (Switzerland), Iveco Defence Systems Freccia (Italy), Nexter Systems VBCI (France), Otokar Arma (Turkey), Patria AMV (Finland), BTR (Russia) and BTR-4 (Ukraine). Some of these have undergone summer trials in the UAE in their baseline armoured personnel carrier (APC) configuration.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued an international request for proposals for up to 600 8x8 wheeled combat vehicles, with responses due in March 2012. The UAE has already purchased five Patria AMVs in its 8x8L configuration to meet an urgent operational requirement.( I guess recent purchase is also urgent operational requirement ) These have been fitted with the turret of the Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), which is used in large numbers by the UAE. This version of the AMV remains fully amphibious with the minimum of preparation.

For this new class of 8x8 combat vehicle, the United Arab Emirates is demanding a high level of protection and that about 400 will again be fitted with the BMP-3 turret, although in this case the vehicles will not be required to be amphibious. The remaining 200 units will be specialised versions and troop carriers. As part of any potential contract award, some assembly or production would be undertaken in the UAE, which in recent years has made a major effort to increase its local defence manufacturing capability.

So If it is UAE We will see the PARSes with the BMP-3 turret just like the Patria...
