In their joint statement Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait said they "decided to repel Houthi militias, al-Qaeda and ISIS [Islamic State of Iraq and Syria] in the country.”
The Gulf states warned that the Houthi coup in Yemen represented a “major threat” to the region’s stability.
It also accused the Iranian-backed militia of conducting military...

German will no longer be offered as an alternative third language in Kendriya Vidyalayas following a decision taken by the Human Resource Ministry.
t the 99th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan on Thursday, Irani asked the authorities to stop teaching students German as the third language and stick to Sanskrit, India Today reports.
Irani, who heads the Board of Governors of the KVS in her capacity as the HRD minister, argued that teaching German as a third language violates the three-language formula enunciated in the National Policy of Education, 1986.
Irani's decision will affect over 70,000 students across 500 KVs studying in classes 6 to 8, who will be asked to switch their third language from German to Sanskrit or any other "modern Indian language" with immediate effect.
What the former TV "bahu" fails to recognize is that proficiency in German is a valuable asset for students applying for higher education abroad, particularly for those...
Pakistan to host Hurriyat leaders on Eid in New Delhi

Published: July 13, 2015
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference claimed on Monday it has been invited by the Pakistan high commission in New Delhi for Eid Milan on July 21.
The invite for Eid Milan comes after the high commission withdrew an earlier invitation for Iftar on July 4. According to reports, the invitation was withdrawn in light of a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Ufa on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
Further, the reports added Hurriyat leaders were told that the Iftar was postponed owing to a deadly heatwave in Karachi which claimed over 1,000 lives.
The meeting of the two premiers has provided a much-needed ice-breaker in Pakistan, India talks. In August 2014, India called off secretary-level talks with Pakistan following a meeting between Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit and Hurriyat leaders from Kashmir.

Maybe it is time to abandon our status as the "Islamic" "Republic" of Pakistan, and return to our secular roots which were planned by the fathers of the nation. Not a literal name change, but Pakistani people need to abandon the "Islamic Republic" ideology. Pakistan was created because Jinnah and co were afraid that in a Hindu dominated Country, there would always be episodes of violence and disagreement between the two chief religions, as Muslims of India had grown to become an almost different culture. Thus Pakistan was created so that the Muslims and Hindus can live in peace alone. Pakistan was created because the Muslim League felt the new "Hindus"tan would not be secular enough, not because it wouldn't be "Islamic" enough. Do we want to end up like the Middle East?

Highly placed industrial sources have indicated to me that the deal for advanced Avionics, Radar, EW suite, HMD/S and MICA Missiles for PAF's JF-17 Thunder jets is back on the table. The deal was postponed after India removed Rafale from its MMRCA. Now that the Rafale deal with India is stalling, the French are willing to sell the whole package PAF wants for its Thunder fleet.

Why do Pakistanis love Kashmir?
February 21, 2015, 11:56 pm
Western and Pakistani media coverage – can only operate in London as opposed to their home country. Yet the Pakistani state wants an influx of 5 million Kashmiris (ISI seems to have already granted them honorary citizenship) so thatJihad Fi Sabilillah can be established and victory can be achieved. Of course, Nawaz pretends it’s not about Jihad but his passion for human rights.
Recently, I spoke to a kid who was once a student at an elite and Westernised school in Pakistan (speaking Urdu even during breaks is punishable by a detention at such schools). I was surprised that he couldn’t even take a casual joke on the Kashmir issue. He remarked, “Kashmir does not want to be a part of India.” Amused, I retorted in my usual tongue-in-cheek tone: “Precisely. Kashmir is a natural part of Pakistan and Kashmiri Pandits must pay jizya.” The guy was a non-partisan Muhajir. Obviously, non-partisan...

Via Pak Def. Pakistan wants eight F-16 Block-52+ aircrafts, 3 OHP frigates and requested the sale of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters to replace the AH-1F/S Cobras. I was told the same thing by a PAF source a few months ago. Is it likely that Pakistan will exercise the option for the total 18 extra F-16s or buy more surplus ones from the US ?
