Welcome to occar

The first Airbus A400M (Manufacturer Serial Number 018/MSN018) for Germany has been delivered by OCCAR-EA to the Luftwaffe on 18 December 2014. Germany is the 4th Nation to bring the A400M into service after France, Turkey and the UK.

This delivery materialized an intensive period of preparation that was achieved by Germany and OCCAR-EA and that enabled the transfer of the aircraft to Germany before the end of 2014, which was the objective set up for the Programme. In particular, OCCAR-EA has signed on 16 December the contract amendment for the first German aircraft, has negotiated also the conditions linked to supportability, has managed, with the support of the German delivery team, the acceptance phase of the aircraft and has participated in the certification process that was completed by the CQC (Certification and Qualification Committee) on 12 December.

The aircraft will be operated by Air Transport Wing 62 in Wunstorf and will progressively replace the current C-160 fleet in the forthcoming years.
So far 16 pilots and 10 load masters have been trained using the two Full Flight Simulators and Cargo Hold Trainer and are looking forward to operating the new aircraft.
The aircraft is the first of 53 ordered by DE and will bring the In Service fleet of A400M aircraft to nine aircraft (6 France, 1 Turkey, 1 UK and 1 Germany).
