On the evening of 15th September, the Colombo port was the subject of controversy along with the report of an arrival of a Chinese nuclear military submarine, one day prior to the arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Sri Lanka. According to media reports, a ChangZheng-2 submarine of the China’s North Sea fleet has arrived at the C.I.C.T jetty of Colombo port.

It is reported that the submarine was equipped with satellite communication equipment, a torpedo security system and a powerful missile system. However, the government has neither acknowledged nor denied this report, while it is not yet clear whether the submarine arrived with the knowledge of the navy. Analysts are of the opinion that, if the government had given permission for such an act, then it will be the cause of a grave tension within politics of the region.

Chinese nuclear submarine in Colombo port!

A nuclear submarine operating in the Indian ocean can launch JL-2 in a depressed trajectory and India will never know why all her cities turned to ashes and she lost 30% of her population just minutes later.

Now just waiting for a hot-head Indian jawan to open fire in Chumar.... :)
Very well played encirclement and checkmate by Xi Jinping :china:

JL-2 is not for India.

Frankly, the role of our fast-attack nuclear subs is to assure the safety of our maritime route.

ChangZheng-2 submarine

lol..its long march rocket, aint it?noob media.or is it Han Class??

The Han-Class were developed with a backdrop of factional violence and witch-hunts for enemy agents. The Han-Class is well known for having a noisy reactor and poor radiation shielding. This causes health hazards for her crew as nuclear radiation levels are higher than they should be aboard the submarine. The submarine is also inhibited by an inability to launch missiles while submerged. This creates a tactical disadvantage against opponents that have well-developed anti-submarine warfare systems.

thats truly dangerous,For Sri Lankans.. :D

LOL..Han Class used ASHM,not JL-2..you dodn't even know capability of your arms platform??

If it is true.. Stupid move by the Rajapaksa regime to grant permission.. There is no issue of goodwill visits by Navy vessels of any friendly country as it often happens but not in incognito..

Good move. China has to increase her naval presence in the regional waters. It would be a scene when Chinese Navy Carriers would be patrolling the region in show of power.
Then we'll send our INS Vikramaditya and INS viraat to show some jerks who is the boss of Indian Ocean

Well Viraat is a very old ship and due to be scrapped sooner on the other hand Vikramadiththya is still maligned with lot of troubles. It is better to use those carriers as a show pieces rather as fighting ships. :P

as you know,Han Class is probably in crappier state than Viraat.they're getting withdrawn from service.
