China to upgrade Sri Lanka Defence Services College

A delegation representing the Ministry of National Defence, People's Republic of China led by Chief of Foreign Affairs Office Maj. Gen Qian Lihua signed a MOU to provide material assistance worth of Yuan 10 million to the Defence Services College in Colombo.

The MOU was signed yesterday at the Sri Lanka Ministry of Defence in the presence of Secretary Defenec Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

According to officials, the MoD administered Defence Services College is to receive upgraded laboratory facilities, multimedia units, ICT units and furniture.

Sri Lanka Ministry of Defence Additional Secretary Mr Rohan Senevirathne was also present at the occasion.

This is first time I hear China is going to upgrade SL defense services, so that means news which I got is getting true. Chinese may have secret plan with Colombo port expanding project. They have asked something...I just wondering why they asked such a thing. It seems they're going to have a base here?

Sri Lankas Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya invited the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China to send in more of their trainee students for professional military courses offered by the Sri Lanka Army in order to receive wider exposure in defeat of terrorism.

India has a wonderful relationship with these countries...

India is one country that has had conflicts with literally every country surrounding it. Relatively bigger neighbors like Pakistan and China have managed to push Indian aggression back. They sent their army into Sri Lanka, and promptly got their ***-ets devalued severely, and had to go back. They kill Bangladeshi farmers living near the border for "fun" without abandon, nearly a thousand casualities just in the past few years. They gave Nepal defective, sub-standard Indian-manufactured weapons that "malfunctioned" during conflicts - half the soldiers had to wait for their guns to cool down while the other half fired.

It's a part of this sly&clever Chanakya doctrine(Chunky was a big philosopher in ancient India, the wheel in the center of the Indo flag is his symbol), the doctrine says that in order to meddle with your neighbor, befriend your neighbor's neighbor. Throughout the cold war, India used to ride Russia's back in dealing with China.

So this is great news for Sri Lanka. I just find these assertions that India has "great" ties with it's neighboring countries ridiculously laughable given their meddling and interfering history with each and every neighbor, big or small. Even on the Internet, they come across as incredibly petty people, always trying to rain on other people's parade.
