Pak violated Indian airspace 6 times, China thrice this year

TNN 3 December 2009, 03:54am IST
NEW DELHI: The government on Wednesday disclosed that Indian airspace has been violated 11 times by aircraft, helicopters and UAVs (unmanned aerial
vehicles) of Pakistan, China and US over the last one year. "In six separate incidents, five UAVs and a fixed-wing medium-sized aircraft from Pakistan violated Indian airspace,'' said defence minister A K Antony in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

In all, Pakistan has violated Indian airspace 43 times since 2006. During the same timeframe, Pakistan Army has violated the ceasefire along the 198-km International Border in J&K, the 778-km Line of Control and the 150-km Actual Ground Position Line in Siachen as many as 128 times. China, in turn, has violated Indian airspace on three occasions. While two helicopters each had entered Ladakh on June 21 and 24, another Chinese aircraft had crossed the border on May 13.

A transport aircraft and a cargo plane from the US also violated Indian airspace in June and October.

Its not a blame game, take it the right way. Someone asked a question in Parliament and this was the reply. Trying asking same question Pakistan and see if they say something else.

Well, my biggest surprise is that the Indian media is very quite about all this and hasn't whipped up it's usual frenzy.

Giving news is one thing, but as we all know, the Indian media has the talent to make a song and dance about such issues.

Its nothing new it has been circulated in the papers and aired on various news channels, also our media is an independent body never under the pressure from the GOI. In fact it has exposed the GOI on various occassions. I feel blessed to have a media like ours rather than a Goverment mouthpeice AKA The Chinese media.

I will wait to see a time when Pakistan will have half the amount of news channel we have, you will see the same attitude there as well. What happens with so much live news being aired to have audience glued to their channel they have to add spice to everything. The regional channel is more culprit, if you have not watched see AajTak channel you have seen nothing so far. I like ndtv, timesnow and cnnibn, they are more or less good.

see...every country has biased and insanely stupid media sources...even the Us has newspapers talking about michal jackson being an alien and other sci-fi stuff..
you just have to look in the right direction...
so don't generalize on the Indian media...Pakistani news scene also has many BS sources....but in the end you should know what to believe and what to watch...

and as far the media knowing about the intrusions is concerned...their sources from within the Dod...and the army...are responsible for that...sometimes they err...other times they don't.

The tragedy with Indian media is that even after 9/11, the CNN, FOX News and related Chanels took a few days before they started blaming AL-Quaida and stuff, but we all witnessed that while fire fights were still taking place inside the Taj, Pakistan was already being blamed.
Gives a whole new meaning to jumping the gun.

Well dude you seem to hv some misconceptions about Indian media...
In India the print media is the most reliable and newspapers like TOI, HT, IE etc are amongst it including a host of others.....while speaking of the TV media there is senseless and utter rubbish and exaggerated news in some of the Hindi TV news channels only wheras the English news channels are mostly reliable and comparable to any global media outlet.....so give some facts if u want to malign them....
And a media outlet speaking for national security is in no way "jumping the gun" ...its just highlighting an immediate concern of the people .....

The mumbai attacks were unique in nature in the sense we had a parrot speaking within 2-3 hrs of the attack who happened to be a pakistani , so there was enough evidence to go gaga....it wasnt the case on 9/11 or even on 7/7 .... also if u remember the malegaon blasts, there was speculation that it was handiwork of LeT but the media didnt go gaga over it and eventually spoke in high volumes only when truth was uncovered.....:mps:

Good one.... Reasonable.... Justified. Agreed.

But I remember, Mumbai incidents gave birth to a hell of lots of such BS by Indian Media. Watching this one goes . I think it maybe called at a time of tragedy COMIC RELIEF. (Literary Term Some might know).

KIT Over
