Thats 2 Lt.colonels killed in a period of 1 week.

An SSG soldier named Sepoy Muhammad Imran was also killed 1 or 2 days back in Tirah valley.

No he died in April, during initial thrust in Tirah valley and whole company of SSG was killed

That has got to be inaccurate..how can the talibs cause such attrition even among the SSG..let me guess they ambushed them with surprise on their side? Any links backing that figure up?

200-300 Talib overwhelmed 15-20 commandos. It was a night stealth mission to occupy a small village so talib won't ambush a regular infantry platoon which was going to pass through road near the village. Faulty intelligence led to the massacre of both infantry platoon and commando platoon resulting in death of around 40-50 soldiers, Air backup and artillery was not used because of the nature of mission to occupy the area quickly and quietly as faulty intel led soldiers to believe they are at an advantage because of surprise attack they are about to commence, but Talibs give them surprise instead . Details are in Operation Tirah Valley thread

So when more than 100 Talibs are raining down 12.7 MM and RPG from above, you can not survive for too long.

They are not Mullah Omar is going for international role that is why they even are talking to Iran but these TTP guys according to Afghan Taliban are destroying their image only thing which has stopped Mullah Omar from kicking them earlier is that they are busy with USA and Nato in Afghanistan other wise they would have done it quite before but hope if they really think they are destroying their image than they do it soon

Now this makes sense. I cannot imagine the SSG taking such casualties just assaulting entrenched talibs. But an all out ambush with the talibs getting the drop on them, high numerical superiority..pinning them in a kill box with intersecting lines of fire..then yes even the elite can end up embracing martyrdom. Intelligence failures always cost precious lives.

may Allah be pleased with all the fallen soldiers and grant them janat ul firdous. Amen.

death to barbarian terrorist talibans !

It was a mortar attack on PA camp, SSG was also there doing recce. I am talking about the one with 30 or so casualties, in which a captain was also shaheed.

Another attack happened when the PA tropps ran into Taliban. Tirah is thick in vegetation, you can't see far ahead. So the PA troops moved right onto a Taliban camp...maybe you are referring to this one.

Second one, in which Punjab regiment Major also got shaheed

So does it mean that there is no solution to Taliban problem. What should we do surrender as we did in 1971?

BTW we must acknowledge Taliban's bravery.
