AK Rifle variants used by Pakistan

Hi, is there any further info about the AK variant made by pof?, and has it been fielded??
Regards...

Bezerk and Taimi (and anyone else who can elaborate) - the AK version shown in use by the SSG does not appear to have the wood furniture (right before the barrel where the second hand grip is attached) seen on the Type 56 images posted.

Is it the Type56C?

Nops Sir, the one being held by the SSG guys i believe is the Norinco Type 56-2 assault rifle with side-folding stock, the bayonet is discarded along with its integral mounting as seen in Type-56 and Type-56-1.

The wooden grip can't be been due to the external accessories being mounted.

The regular troops use the simple Type-56 with bayonet version and the folding stock one too, while SSG guys use both the version and the Type-56-2, plus the Russian with bottom-folding stock. Also, we have seen some Russian AK-100+ series assault rifles with them too.

An interesting tidbit I came across related to Pakistan's AK-47 clone and the Russian claim of owning the patent to it and wanting license fees from all 'AK-47 clone producers'.

Last Month in Turkey

There was a minor diplomatic incident last month at the IDEF ‘09 defense expo when the Russian delegation discovered that Pakistan Ordnance Factories had AK-47 clones on display. When confronted the Pakistan stated owned defense manufacture refused to remove the display.

Anatoly Aksenov, a senior advisor to the director general of Rosoboronexport (Russia’s sole export intermediary), said in a press release “Russia will ask IDEF-2009’s administration to impose sanctions on Pakistan’s delegation if the counterfeit weapon is not removed from the booth by tomorrow … is piracy and we will struggle against it.”. The Turkish Ministry of Defense, who organized the expo, acted swiftly and the following day the rifles were removed from display.

According to Mr. Aksenov Turkey is looking to purchase Russian short and medium range anti-aircraft systems, which no doubt gave the Russians much leverage with the Turkish Ministry officials.

We have seen a lot of pictures of our PA soldiers and Pakistani police with Kalashnikov assault rifles, do any anyone know about the details about the numbers, versions of Kalashnikov assault rifles(Other then Type 56 Assault Rifle) being used by PA/Pakistani police and countries from which these were imported?

What are chances of PA/Pakistani police adopting versions of Kalashnikov assault rifle as its standard assault rifle given the fact that G-3 is useless in many regions of Pakistan?

PLA replaced the Type 56 Assault Rifle with the Type 81 Assault Rifle in 1980 which itself was replaced by the bullpup QBZ-95 Assault Rifle in late 1990s. At the same time Type XX Assault Rifles seems to be used by front line units like Pakistani SSG,why? Even country like Bangladesh is producing the Type 81 Assault Rifle for its armed forces.

SSG should use Type 81 with attachments instaed of
Type 56 with attachments....as Type 81 has a bit different
design and less recoil.

ok i think we should go for chinese type 99 it can be disgaurded and beaten and still work... but it has the 5.6 nato round ..hmmmmmmmmm we should go for the 7.6 round
