NEW DELHI: Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday reacted angrily to the killing of eight paramilitary personnel by gunmen in India-held Kashmir on Saturday. He blamed Pakistan for the attack in Pampore.

“India will not hesitate to retaliate if disturbed,” Indian media quoted Mr Singh as saying. “We won’t fire first, but if Pakistan fires then we won’t keep an account of our bullets,” he said in Jharkhand, adding that the neighbouring country was trying to destabilise India.

Mr Singh said he had set up a committee to probe the attack in Pampore. The two-member team would look into any lapses in the handling of the terror attack that left eight CRPF personnel dead.

In the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in recent years, eight CRPF personnel were killed and 21 others critically wounded on Saturday when terrorists rained bullets on a bus carrying them at Pampore.

Mr Singh praised the security men for successfully eliminating “two terrorists involved in yesterday’s attack”.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said procedures were not followed by the paramilitary troops who come under the home ministry’s supervision.

“I think the standard operating procedure wasn’t followed properly,” Mr Parrikar said, adding that the situation would be clearer after an inquiry.

Mr Singh said a probe was under way. “I have asked the home secretary to send two-member committee to Pampore to report if there were any lapses, so we correct them and our soldiers don’t have to lose their lives in future,” Mr Singh said.

Addressing a gathering of BJP workers in the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and others, Mr Singh said: “Yesterday, two Pakistani terrorists ambushed the CRPF convoy. I am proud of their valour. They neutralised the two terrorists despite being under attack. Eight of our jawans (were) martyred. My condolences to their families…we will win against terrorism.”

Mr Singh added that Pakistan’s attitude was not helpful.

You attack and kill our soldiers and we don't even the right to warn?

We actually dont know who attacks your soldiers in Kashmir(yes there are some freedom fighters) but you guys were killing our soldiers through your proxies since last 16 years till recently , and there was a complete silence in Kashmir in these 16 years. Now again Kashmirs are gearing up to get freedom from India, and see now, how calm and cool we are.

we attacked samjhota express, later indian army officer was found behind that
We attacked parliment, later it was proven inside job
we did mumbai and were ready to investigate but no access of Qasab was given
We did Pathankit air base attack later India pulled her blames from Pak government after Pak investigation visit to base.

let these things go. we should support Kashmiri freedom as India has forcefully captured kashmir. go and check UN resolutions frst.

India has been supporting and continues to do so with proxy ttp terrorists and sending their raw agents through Afghanistan for the last 16 years, killing over 70,000 plus Pakistanis, and you have this minister smoking high on weed threatening to attack Pakistan, days are over for India to attack Pakistan, India would not waist a single opportunity to attack Pakistan if it's defences were weak.

Better look in your collars

A so called best force can't even Determines the number of attackers of the Pathan Kot Airbase even after months and they know that The Attacker came from Pakistan yeah World is a fool like you

they didn't find any thing not a single proof of Border Crossing And yet they start blaming Pakistan... Uncle Please.. get a Life and Consult a doctor

Talk is cheap. These threats are cute.

The real question is --- why hasn't India, which is 6-7x larger than us, attacked yet?

Chest thumping is good theater... but that's about it.

So??

Lost balls to do anything similar again despite all provocations. Reason is there is no 1000 km gap between two wings of Pakistan to help "mighty" Indian army win a war.

War is the last resort, atleast for India...
There is no need for war when things are getting done through other ways.

War is not the resort. And things are not happening other way either. But since war is not a resort altogether you have to keep believing in "other ways" despite their futility.

Send him a history book on East Pakistan..India will be the biggest loser even if a small border conflict erupts...
