The Afghanistan national cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by 100 runs during the final match of the One Day International (ODI) series.
The two consecutive wins helped Afghanistan to draw the ODI series 2-2, after losing the opening and second match of the series to Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan set a target of 260 runs from 49.1 overs by losing its all wickets after Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field first.

A half century by Shafiqullah helped Afghanistan to build a momentum in the game after losing the opening batsmen during the early moments of the game.

Samiullah Shenwari remained the second highest scorer on the batting side for Afghanistan who scored 40 runs, while Nasir Jamal scored 39 runs.

Gulbadin Naib contributed 31 runs, captain Mohammad Nabi 37 runs, Dawlat Zadran 15 runs, Javed Ahmadi 7 runs, Usman Ghani 14 runs, Mirwais Ashraf 4 runs, Sharafuddin Ashraf 3 runs and Aftab Alam remained not out after scoring 1 run.

Afghan bowlers restricted the Zimbabwe batsmen in 159 runs from 38 overs, with Sharafuddin Ashraf taking 3 wickets, Dawlat Zadran and Aftab Alam 2 wickets each and Mohammad Nabi, Mirwais Ashraf one wicket each.

Afghanistan will emerge as a serious challenger in Cricket within this decade if it is given even half the facilities and training that teams like Bangladesh, Ireland and Scotland receive.

A pity that Zimbabwe cricket has fallen into bad times. But it can learn from the Afghans what it takes to persevere under adversity.
 
Zimbabwe had one of the world's best teams. This match was a huge disappointment here :undecided:
