Pakistan continues closure of 'Bab-e-Dosti' gate

CHAMAN: One week after Afghan citizens protested and desecrated Pakistan’s flag, the Pak-Afghan border remained closed on Thursday.

Long queues of NATO containers as well as cargo trucks were witnessed on both sides of the borders while all kind of transit trade had been stopped due to the closure.

Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and industry Vice President, engineer Daru Khan said that immediate steps would be taken to open the border.

While the two countries are engaged in resolving their diplomatic differences, local traders are losing thousands of dollars daily.

However, Afghanistan's forces had called a flag meeting with Pakistani forces three times which ended unproductive. In the meetings Pakistan categorically stated that Afghan authorities should apologize for the incident on August 18.

The Bab-e-Dosti gate was closed as a sign of protest when pro-Indian Afghan protesters pelted stones at the gate, raised slogans against Pakistan and desecrated the Pakistani national flag in the presence of the Afghan security forces.

Sad situation where the weak is being bullied into submission, simply because they are landlocked- Afghans should apologize If there is no option- They are totally dependent on Pakistan- swallow pride and apologize, But always keep in mind what Pakistan can do to them and find long term solutions to It- No country can help you If you don't have the will to fight for yourself-

Interesting to see Pakistan's firm stand on this issue. Punishing Afghanistan ( and stopping NATO containers ) for few people burning Pakistani flag. This should send Afghanistan to prioritize her affairs and give importance to connectivity with other neighboring countries.

LOL are you really that dumb or you pretend to be one ? Hows Does that sound a bullying ?

Do you even know that we were treating their soldiers in our hospitals when they were attacking us at the borders. We are already hosting documented 3mn of them. What else do you expect when they let their population oose on the border and start attacking the check post we can't even protest by shutting down the border? Perhaps Since you people are so great why dont you take them as refugees ?

Punishing for Flag. Hilarious. Unlike you we do not set up curfews after seeing next door neighbours flag ( See Kahsmir)
If their border forces cant stop their people from pelting stones at the check-post for no reason, then there is simply no reason for us to open the border with them. Until and unless they learn to civilize and respect international laws and treaties we can't keep our borders while they pelt stones and and exhibit their ungratefulness as always
