Yeah Belharra definitely excels with its sensors suite in this comparison. But for every ship they buy we can field much more as I-class is much cheaper. I guess we should also wait for Turk class FAC to have a clear picture of what the scene is going to look like.
I remember Greek websites claiming France offers a buyback option in case of Greek finances not being able to cope with these ships for 5 years. So if they can't afford it for a certain amount of time, French Navy would get those ships back.
Quite honestly Belharra doesn't offer much compared...
There were Turks before that. Turkic history starts with Tiele and Dingling people, continues with Xiongnu and First Turkic Khaganate. This is a history spanning almost 2500 years.
There is no point denying that we are actually the children of Ottomans, not even the most staunch Republicans do that. What people doesn't understand is cultures are dynamic and evolve over time. 500 years ago, we thought we were superior to Europeans, as conquests were easy and whole Balkans...
Nop, Timur is a completely different story since he comes from the lineage of Genghis Khan. When Mongols invaded, many Turkic and Mongol tribes eventually settled in Central Asia and Desth-i Kipchak. These Mongols like Timur's people gradually adopted Turkic languages in time. And quite...
Maybe I can take the weight from my compatriot and tell you this: genetically speaking, Turks are very much European and Middle Eastern, not Central Asian. Anatolia, for almost all of its history, had been a major destination of migration. For the last 200 years alone, we had seen huge waves of...
Turkey having good relations with India might not be as bad as you think. Having a middleman coordinating reliable communications between both sides is always good when politicians act dead stupid and ordinary people pay the price for that.
^^
Merlin is used by Royal Navy to serve as an Early Warning Radar for their aircraft carrier groups, they are not utilized by traditional combat ships. And btw RN operates them because of their inability to launch large fixed-wing aircraft by their ACs, if they had the chance of operating...
^^Ah I totally missed that. We can say that their sophistication come from their guidance I guess.
The problem with these munition is not their guidance or their propulsion (or lack thereof) They don't carry enough explosives, making them unusable against many armoured targets.
They are UMTAS and Cirit derivatives that have no engine and quite honestly; the potential energy from plane's altitude is enough for them. That doesn't mean they are unguided though. If they were unguided, we wouldn't see those hits being that pinpoint accurate.
I know what an Anti-ship missile is :)
This type of missiles need kinetic energy at launch, there is a reason why they are being fired from either high-altitude fixed-wing aircraft or by Vertical Launching Systems. It is not impossible, but it is hard to integrate missiles of that size into...
Why don't you guys just go for Su-57 already? Is there anything resembling an analysis by IAF claiming these 4+ gen fighters were good at something compared to Su-57?

Wrong company made it tho
