India to Deploy Massive Tank Army Along Border With Pakistan

The Indian Army is set to deploy over 460 new T-90SM main battle tanks (MBTs) along India’s border with Pakistan, senior Indian defense officials told IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly on January 19.

The new T-90SM MBT (other designations T-90AM or T-90MS) is the latest and most modern version of the T-90 (which in turn is a modernized variant of the T-72 MBT), and has specifically been designed for export by Russia.

According to IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly, the newly ordered MBTs will supplement 850-900 license-built T-90S Bhishma tanks, divided into 18 regiments, and currently deployed in the Indian states of Rajasthan and Punjab. It is unclear how many T-90S and T-90SM in total are currently in service with the Indian Army. (Estimates vary from 800 to 1,200 MBTs in various stages of operational readiness.)

Hopefully our anti tank rockets will make short work of them. They are also relatively cheap compared to tanks so double win for Pakistan.

I think its time for Pakistan to consider VT-4 or Type 99

Pakistan is currently in talks with the Chinese Government to buy VT-4 MBT's.

Type 99: Not on Pakistan's future list.

Well that might be Pakistani way of thinking but only you don't have ATGMs in this world.
India is recovering from coma it had been since last 10 years & also a stop gap arrangement.

Also India operates Spike anti tank missile but In January 1998, a partnership arrangement was announced between Israeli Aerospace Industries and Kamov to market the Kamov Ka-50-2 attack helicopter in Turkish competition. One of the optional armaments being offered for the Ka-50-2 was the Spike-ER missile.[65] Eventually, Ka-50-2 lost to TAI/AgustaWestland T-129. Turkey has also examined the use of Rafael Overhead Weapon Station with Spike for its Otokar Cobra light armored vehicles.

Good thing is Pakistan ordered 40 worth $2 billion TAI/AgustaWestland T129 from turkey.

These can be countered by our very large attack heli fleet. But nonetheless this should be a wake-up call for fast induction and production of the Al-Haider.

No Such Ordered has been placed , there is no Official Confirmation ..
So far we just have Cobra's and Zulu's are on their way .. but delivery will start from 2018 i guess ..

Such moves indicates the war hysteria of NaMO that trying to impress the supporters through these maneuvering stunts. It has to be viewed in context of Indian Chief that indicated the so-called strike and then many ministers tried to make a ground. The continuous war mongering would be dangerous for the region as well however, the same will end as the famous cold-feet start doctrine in past.

Looking at the track record, readings and evaluation of events firstly it is all about a preparation to propagate the so-called strike in future and these maneuvers will be used as a reference under a dramatic strategy by media warfare and secondly, such moves are based upon the continuous war mongering and those urgent weapons purchase stating as needed for limited time conflict to create a threatening atmosphere for investors in CPEC, Gwadar etc.

NaMO mistakenly viewing something like this from a prospect that is all good for hue & cry and on paper but the feeling of I/Me, is a disastrous thing. This all is intended against the growth of Pakistan and to create a reason of an offense and diverging tactics from the real issues. Whenever it comes to real problem and issues like Kashmir, the growing CPEC and somehow when our friendly leadership is in crises, a push to save someone here on behest of Master/handlers of both friends, actually occurs which is not new or first time though Guardians are well prepared as well.

If Indian Army is getting tanks , it would either be for India-Tibet border or for India - Pak border. It's common sense, useless masala journalism which is not expected from.IHS.

I think you are experienced enough to know that India had large numbers of T55, they need replacements too.

In modern war tank is sitting duck ....Specially , when human eye can see the enemy movement. Seems heading toward CPEC and water war.

460 indian tanks x 1 Pakistani tactical missile = 460 free tanks for Pakistan.
