Karachi operation to continue unabated, says army chief

Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has reiterated that the ongoing Karachi operation against criminal elements in the city would continue unabated.

“Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Karachi today…was given a detailed briefing at Corps and Rangers headquarters,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.



“The COAS lauded operations by Rangers with LEAs, which have restored normalcy in Karachi, significantly reducing terrorism, target killing and kidnapping for ransom. He reiterated that efforts to consolidate budding peace in the city would continue unabated.”

Army would continue to give full support to all government institutions involved in the Karachi operation, particularly Sindh police and civil administration, the statement added.

The army chief, ISPR said, appreciated soldiers and officers for their courage and resolve to rid the city of terrorists and criminals. “The COAS paid tribute to the people of Karachi for their support to the security forces,” the military’s media wing said.

Gen Qamar also interacted with the business community of Karachi, reassuring that businesses and investment in the city will continue to benefit from the improving law and order.

Sindh Rangers' special powers were once again extended on request of Sindh government
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Spokesperson of Interior Ministry told that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has given an approval on Thursday to Sindh government’s request of extending special powers of Sindh Rangers’ in Karachi for next 90 days, reported Dunya News.

The Interior Minister approved the request and notification was issued according to which Rangers in Sindh will once again exercise their special powers in the provincial capital.

The powers were extended for 90 days according to the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997. The extension in powers was enforced from January 16, 2017.

The notification was issued by federal Ministry of Interior.

Thank you please continue , street crime is out of control with a few dead in muqabla these guys will get under some sort of control .. right now its excessive
 
I think now its time to expand this operation to Sindh and Punjab, so all terrorists and their abettors are eliminated completely.

In'Sha'ALLAH and will be done accordingly as there will be no difference when it comes to national security. Punjab and Interior Sindh op is a long due but things to be worked one by one.

Expand to Punjab and also to Islamabad. Not only does the ISIS HQ of Pakistan function free from any restrictions, the madrassahs affiliated to this network is spreading quite rapidly. Idher bhi nazr, huzur.
