LCA Tejas to debut at this year's Republic Day flypast

He has been ever since the Bahrain airshow..

Oh really, why don't you go and find out how many FIGHTER AIRCRAFT did actually participate in that second tier show.
Does Farnburough, Turkey, Dubai, Paris, Zhuhai ring any bells.
You should just stick to opening threads on every time a Pakistani gets deported from somewhere.....talk about obsession.

You are just another enlightened Indian oozing with knowledge.....no wonder you guys call a two aircraft flight a squadron.
Ouchhh!!! Why u are hurt buddy facts hurt? Our Tejas is taking several shorties for very long time now. Matter of fact our MK1-P will be more advanced than your dream version of block 3. And MK2 of ours will challenge any 4th Gen fighter. More over our Tejas is light category squadrons. Will more than enough to keep your airforce at bay

Does it have to be directly over the crowd? What if it gives some distance away from it as long as it is still in the view? I think India should not shy away from showing off her own creation in front of her own people. Safety can always be managed. Otherwise, there should be no reason to have any single engine aircraft at all since God knows when it would dive into some big crowd in some city.

Err they are showing the LCA this time around, that's what the thread is about!

If you have Su-30, Mig-29 and Mig 21 in your inventory, which ones would you use for a flying display? Surely not the Mig 21s!

You showcase the latest, you showcase the cutting edge, you showcase what you are proud of. We are proud of the LCA, so we ll display it on our Republic day!

Facts ... LoL.
Fact is your Tejas should have been inducted in the 90s, come back and talk when you have first squadron operational, until then enjoy your time travel.....

Dragging into conversation, an aircraft which has flown across the world to international airshows, currently equips four operational squadrons, already moved on to next block improvements, having received export orders.....all after coming into existence decades after your Tejas.....it's not difficult to conclude, who is desperately boxing above his weight to hide their own sheer embarrassment.
Then why signup in the first place?
I open threads mainly when Pakistanis are alleged/suspected/caught in terror activities across the globe. I don't care when Pakistanis are deported or not..

This thread could have led to an interesting debate on the use of single-engined fighters in shows like these but for the resident trolls who can't keep shut on hearing worlds like "Hindu" and "Tejas". Your forum..your rules..go ahead..

It has never crashed even during testing.

Let that sink in.
Hybrid it was a bird strike and the jet was from an operational sqadron... in november 2011.

Yes changed. After all its our own regulations

LOL Brand New JF-17 . Future of Pakistan Airforce. 3 already lost with just over 17,000 hrs of flying? And they operate very few squadron
We lost one.. and over 75 are in service... with over 19000 operational flying hours ... including combat and several international airshows !

Apart from getting export orders and advancing to BLOCK III as we speak.

False claim... nothing official... the so called pilot according to international journalists saved it.

75 in active service .. 20000 operational flying hours,combat service,international airshows,export orders...

BC still a better record than the entire indian airforce... lol.. even managed to crash C-17 in less than a month.. let alone its marvellous crash record of 1300 jets in 3 decades.

even those are for testing lol.

It will shoot down enemy pilots with its record alone... haha

Amount of butthurt Pakistanis and chinese showing on this thread . . .PRICELESS !!:lol::lol:
BC u tag people to troll them... baad mein khud rotay ho.. when u are counter trolled.

Oh boy! Busy man u must be...
He wont even have a life if he started posting about rapes in india... one pops up after every 15 mins.. :D

Good Luck ..looking forward to it..:coffee:

A twin engine plane is inherently safer than a single engine plane. So if an airforce has a choice, it would obviously fly the twin engine planes over public gatherings.

Am sure if Pakistan Air Force could afford twin engine fighter planes it too would prefer to use them over single engine fighter planes for public fly pasts.

Several two engine fighters has crashed after losing one engine since the plane becomes unbalanced
and the pilot lost control.

even those are for testing
Not really.
LCA Program is flight tested by an institution known as the National Flight Test Center

The testing in India for IAF service is done by a separate institution:Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment.
They have an amazingly rich history. (Eg: The two Indians selected for the Indo-Soviet Joint Space Venture Training in the 80's were officers of the ASTE)
The Test Pilots of the LCA Program(The current Commandant of the ASTE is also an ex LCA TP) are listed in the below article:

An article on the NFTC:
http://ajaishukla.blogspot.in/2011/02/men-and-their-flying-machine-day-at.html
From the official webpage of Tejas:
National Flight Test Centre is the directorate of ADA dealing with flight testing of LCA. All the flight test and aircraft instrumentation related activities are planned, coordinated and executed by NFTC which is headed by a Test Pilot from the Indian Air Force. NFTC has Indian Air Force and Indian Navy test pilots and flight test engineers along with the scientists and engineers for instrumentation who are professionally carrying out the flight testing of the LCA.
