Imagine a team of people who have worked in movies, in Hollywood, like War for The Planet of the Apes, Tron: Legacy, X-Men: First Class, Guardians of the Galaxy, Sherlock Holmes, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman V Superman and Captain America: The Winter Soldiers AND Game of Thrones all getting together to work on a project helmed by a Pakistani. Yepp, it’s happening!

Umar Agha, a film graduate from Columbia University, saw the 9/11 aftermath unfold in front of his own eyes.

Sick of the extremism that everyone associates with Islam, he decided to research about the history of his faith which led him to discover the legend that is Saladin (Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub).

He was overwhelmed by how Saladin rose above all the hate and violence prevalent during his time. Umar decided that instead of going to producers in Hollywood, with his idea, he would come to Pakistan and shoot in Lahore.

The scale at which this movie is being made is insane and unlike anything ever been made in Pakistan, before.
Battles, animation, and an epic story line, Agha is giving even the biggest filmmakers a run for their money. But he’s in need of funds to actually bring the project to completion.

He has shot a teaser without any funding, and is now looking for some serious funding to create a proper proof-of- concept trailer to pitch to interested Hollywood producers.

In quality maybe but in marketing never but our main aim of reviving our industry will be filled by great projects like this
Lets hope our government helps our industry instead of overtaxing it

Hope he succeeds in his project, but I doubt Hollywood would be interested in investing in an epic film about Saladin. I can see it more of a regional film that appeals to the Muslim world given the subject matter. Instead of making it a Pakistani film, make it a multi-language film, filmed in various languages.

yeah good.. but they should have made it a little bit longer :)

they (muslim world) should have made many hollywood quality films but they dont..

for excample (I have a turkish point of view so I will bring more excamples of turkish identity film you all are free to extend this list)

a film about Mu'tasim, Harun Rashid, Khalid ibn Walid, Nureddin, Baybars, Salah ad din, Timur, Ottomans : Osman , Fatih the conqueror, Yavus Selim, maybe a film about the Dajjal, a film about the events and fights malhama and the Mahdi

turkish films could be great when they would do it without the anatolian comic toch and macho sheme about Göktürks, the wars with russians and magyars, about wienna.. the defeat and death of dracula (vlad the impaler)

this all would strengthen identity and maybe awake the ummah but no one wants to strengthen you they want you to be like them and loose your identity or worser awake the sleeping ummah.. you just think about simple things like F. that girl or have that car... and look that stupid american films

Turkey has a fairly developed and mature film industry .. Pak and Turkey should wo on producing movies considering how popular Turkish entertainment is in Pak and so on.

Looks awesome. Would love Pakistani producers to make movies on local heroes as well like Abdullah Bhatti (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dulla_Bhatti), Hosh Muhammad Sheedi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoshu_Sheedi) or even modern ones like Karnal Sher Khan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karnal_Sher_Khan).

Another incident that I would love to see on the big screen would be the "Battle of Hilli" 71.
