According to recent news, Islamabad is confirmed to see some more development regarding its Metro Bus network.

Last week on Tuesday, Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif directed immediate construction of Islamabad Metro Bus link from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad’s new airport.

The PM was informed that the development in the Metro Bus system would cost around 18 billion rupees and would require construction of additional 14 bus stops along the route.

The development in the Metro Bus system is going to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 14th August this year. The inauguration of the new Islamabad Airport is going to take place on the same date.

Mr Sharif further stated that the additional development in the Metro Bus system would minimize the load of traffic flow towards the new airport and save valuable time for civilians.

He also said that the Metro Bus Service and the new Islamabad Airport should suffer through no compromises and the best quality of service should be ensured to the public.

The Prime Minister while talking to the Secretary Communications Division and Chairman National Highway Authority Shahid Ashraf Tarar in a meeting at the PM house highlighted the importance of transport in the city.

Moreover, the Chairman also informed the PM about the progress of various ongoing projects regarding road networks in the country.

He said that the reach of road networks in the country provides access to all areas of the country and creates a huge economical potential for trade and commerce across the country.

It's Divided in 3 Phases

Peshawar Morr (G-8) to G-13

G-13 to National Highway (N-5)

National Highway (N-5) to Airport

If we keep politics & corruption out of this .Metro Bus is best thing happened to Rawalpindi people
I lived in islamabad and rawalpindi as well.
  • there was not a single good transport service in islamabad / rawalpindi before metro
  • VARAN service left islamabad due to transport mafia. And we all know how bad transport mafia is in rawalpindi
  • There is not a single transport service which is running on Kashmir highway. so this phase is required
  • Metro is giving relief to girls specially.

Yes there are 3 more Lines that are Proposed in Islamabad (Rawat-Rawalpindi) section

The Current one which is approved by PM Nawaz is Called Orange Line From G-8 to Islamabad Airport

The rest 2 are Blue and Green Lines which are just proposed and Chinese Company NORINCO offered to make Light Rail in Islamabad just few days ago

So this Orange line is gonna be Metro bus now later and light Rail in future rest 2 gonna be Light Rail.
The Current one is Called Red Line which will be upgraded to Light Rail in Future

so does this mean that they are going to ruin the kashmir highway or are they going to make it on the area next to kashmir highway......
