Indian Navy future plan ???

Guys by let say 2030 What is the size which Indian Navy wants or Indian plans to have for its Navy ? I mean How many major ships from that I mean Frigates and Destroyers and Corvettes and How many submarines along with fighter jets and anti submarine jets to back them up ????????????

3 (Perhaps 4, 1-2 Nuclear powered) Aircraft carrier, 8 SSBNs, 6-8 SSNs, 30 SSKs.

If every thing goes according to plan we will have 3 battle carrier group. Provided that India does not screw up on the planned nuclear powered AC.

A Security Review is planned mid next year. Things would be clear then.

Decisions regarding Number of Nuclear Powered Vessels , New Air Defence Destroyers , Next Phase of Development of Amphibious Forces , etc would be taken.

So I can easily estimate India have around 80 Frigates and Destroyers and Corvettes around 2025. And yes you did good by not including those ships which are going to be retired by Indian Navy in next few years.

In the short term
[Upto 2020] , the focus of investments would be

1. Aviation [Including Fighter Jets , P8I, MPAs, Helicopters ]
2. SSBNs [Atleast 4 active by 2022, so that we have all the time at least 1 SSBN at patrol ]
3. Corvettes and Minesweepers[ Old Corvettes, Missile Boats and Minesweepers will retire in bulk in coming years ]

The Diesel Electric Submarine Fleet is an area of concern though.

Mix of 30 Destroyers and Frigates will be ready by 2027. (Other than 3 delhi class all are new)

• 41 Corvettes are planned as of now but time lines are not clear. In this only 4 Kamorta class is under construction (No updates on 8 follow on).
• 7 Multi Role Corvettes,16 AWS corvettes (700 ton),6 NGMVs are all in preliminary tender stages. You can also add 12 Mine Counter-Measure Vessels to be build by GSL.
• Recent RFI for four LHD (20000+ ton), completion by 2032.
• 5 Fleet Support Ships are now under construction at HSL.

Submarines (2030) :

• 16-20 SSKs
• 6 Arihant class SSBNs.
• 1-2 Leased akula class SSN + 1-2 Indian made SSN

Post 2027 plan is the interesting part, The Destroyer/Frigates mix could reach 50 by 2037 IMO.

Minus 1 Brahmaputra class currently out of service (remains to be seem if/when this comes back into service).

As for all classes: please distinguish the number currently 'in service', 'building', 'ordered', and 'planned'.

numbers are not right ....no more 12 kamorta's .......only 4 for now..........follow on are 7 NGC (totall 11 corvettes)
Again not 12 ASW but 16 ASW by GSRE

Today we have 137 ships and submarines... our aspiration is to become a 200-ship Navy (by 2027)," Vice Chief of Navy Vice Admiral P Murugesan told reporters here when asked about the force's aims.

Accounting for possible delays, the IN should be a 200 Ship fleet by 2030.

P18 is not official yet. Last P15B is scheduled for 2024. Chances of P18 ready by 2030 is less.

There will be follow on orders for kamorta. New 6 NGMVs and 7 Multi role corvettes RFIs are different class / requirement altogether.
