What's new

Sickening & probably illegal- Foreigners posing with their dead "trophies"

gov of pakistan give license to kill these . as i remember 100000$ for each of this

What kind of country sells license to kill its national animal! That too when its an endangered species !

I am against hunting of endangered species. If i am not mistaken the Markhor is on that list. Shame!

Where is civil society of pakistan on this? Where is the Pak media?... too busy with other trivial sensationalism?

This is sickening, how could anyone murder such beautiful animals.

In Alaska this is still rampant, even Sarah Palin murdered a caribou.

The state of Alaska has been cracking down on crap like this but they still go easy on assholes who murder for "trophies".

disgusting

Humans have been out of control since they invented the gun

If it was matter of life or death or shortage of food , as you are stuck in wilderness that is a valid excuse but "sports" no way , that is just cold blood shit you have a gun and animal has no clue nor defences against a gun ... just horrible stuff

Funny how the thread author conveniently left out the easily obtained Pakistan hunters and others who were NOT rich Americans or Europeans. Wonder why that is?

I and every other ethical hunter, is against hunting an endangered species but that is up to the Pakistani government to manage their game populations. Ethical and well managed hunting is good for game animal populations, not bad. There are far, far, more game animals in America today for example, than when my father hunted as a boy, because of that. I get the feeling from reading many posts here that some here don't have a clue about that fact. Just a few links to give you some insight...

And for those of you who are opposed to hunting, but are not strict vegetarians who wear no fur and use no leather, you are hypocrites. You kill animals, you just don't realize it or want to acknowledge it. You just pay others to do the hard work for you. I know where my food comes from. I'm a hunter.

I think we were focused on endangered spices here not necessary focused on the hunter who they were

We here in Pakistan are desensitized to the species of goat because we sacrifice domesticated goat in millions on the occasion of Eid. But these pictures of different kinds of wild goats remind us that goat are one of the most majestic of nature's creations.
If they are hunted within limits then i am sure they will be fine. But knowing Pakistan i am pretty certain that they are being over hunted.

Then the thread title for example, should probably have made that point rather than blaming "foreigners". Kind of makes me think it is more about that than concern for wildlife.

If it helps the Pakistani hunters as just as much arss holes :)

We are spreading the dislike of killing endangered species quite equally

Then the proper scorn belongs to who is actually responsible for such unethical practices; the government of Pakistan.

Without doubt we are not happy about illegal hunting and even the idea of legal hunting such creatures of wild is not going smoothly as there is fiarly low number of these creatures

Pakistan already has lost its forests, trees and many life forms due to Urban development, the last remaining areas are the mountains, deserts and few lakes and valley areas so if that is also hit by pouchers , it will certainly mean great loss in term of natural wild life in the area

While the present government may not recognize or have finances to appreciate the Wild life but it is a vital part of what Pakistan is certain unique animal life that lives in certain areas

It would really be horrible for future generation to hear about an animal if they become extinct etc

That's a little broad as there may be some species that are hunted that are endangered, but I doubt most are. No one bothered to try and post any information from Pakistan's game management or wildlife agencies, so I don't know for certain.

And in most places around the world, one of the best resources to conserve habitat and wild animal populations is......hunters. Please check-out the links in my first post here. That isn't just how it's done in America. It's how it's done in most countries around the world that have hunting, which is almost all of them.

It is not a SPORT , becasue one party has gun and other has no weapons

> 50 Hounds chasing 1 fox in closed Farm area is not sport
> Taking a leathal shotgun and taking on a animal / wild life which is unarmed not a sport
> 50-60 Hunters on SUV or sitting on elephants , hunting Elephant , not sport
> Bull fighter putting spikes thru a live Bull in spain , not sport
> Somoene capturing a falcon , and putting a lid on its head making it pet not sport
> 1 Rabit vs 20 hounds in closed farm , hunting where rabbit can't escape

What is sport
> Football , 11 vs 11 you go against an equal opponent skill
> Chess , 1 vs 1 or 1 vs Computer , you use your brain to outwitt

Now 1 vs 1 gun battle , back in the day was ligitimate both adversaries had a weapon
It is only a sport when both parties have an equal chance of winning

So like I said, unless you are an absolute vegetarian who uses no fur, no leather, no animal products of any kind, you're just being a hypocrite. You don't have any objection to an animal being killed for your use.....as long as you can pay someone else to do it for you.

Btw, unless Pakistan is the only hunting country were this is the case that I have ever heard of, any game animal killed, in any country that I have ever heard of, must have it's meat used for food. You can not waste it. You cannot dispose of it. It is a crime to do so. That is the case in every single country that I have ever hunted in and everywhere in the USA.
