The folks at Ritter & Stark, a new Austrian firearm manufacturing company, might very well persuade attendees of the biggest U.S. Army conference to skip the presentations by the brass and head right to the floor to check out its new tactical rifle.

The company plans to debut the SX-1 Modular Tactical Rifle, or MTR, at this year’s exposition of the Association of the United States Army, or AUSA, scheduled for Oct. 3-5 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Designed with the military and law enforcement markets in mind, the weapon can be quickly and easily interchanged between a .308 Win (7.62x 51mm NATO), .300 Win Magnum and a .338 Lapua Magnum round, according to a release from the company.

“Unlike other precision rifles, no matter the caliber, our barrels are guaranteed to at least 5,000 rounds for .308Win and .338LM, and 2,000 rounds for .300WM before noticing any degradation in accuracy,” the release states.

The product allows operators to incorporate aftermarket magazines and drop-in upgrades with AR15/M16/M4 pistol grips and buttstocks that will fit the original Ritter & Stark folding buttstock mechanism.
