Clashes erupted across Baramulla district in north Kashmir after Friday prayers after people took to streets and staged anti-India and pro-freedom demonstrations.
In Palhallan area, clashes broke out today afternoon after forces intercepted protesters at Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
The forces’ action triggered clashes in the area, in which at least five youths sustained injuries.
In nearby Pattan area, sporadic clashes between protesting youths and police occurred after the congregational prayers.
In old town Baramulla, a massive protest rally was carried out.
After offering joint Friday prayers at Qadeem Eidgah, people took out a massive protest rally and passed through various parts of old town.
However, the marchers later dispersed off peacefully.
Meanwhile, sporadic clashes between youths and police took place at Azad Gunj and Kanlibagh areas of uptown. P
Forces burst several teargas shells to quell the protesting youths.
