Gypsy girl? What a stupid way of identifying somebody.

All of us are Pakistanis and Muslims--equal in our human worth despite of our poverty or richness.

These people are not called gypsy but "changar" in punjab, but they have other castes who have similar life style as well. But it seem like Changar is most famous among them. They are found everywhere in punjab and have migrated from Rajasthan some centuries ago.

and well done to the little girl, she makes us proud!

I didn't know Pakistan had Gypsies. The one's I met were in Italy.


However this girl did a great job. Congratulations to her and all those who contributed in her success. Wish her more successes in this world and hereafter.

We call them Oad People or Jughi / Pakhi Vaas meaning roaming people.

I am just telling you the facts and Please don't call it troll post being a gypsy does't mean she is less Pakistani or you think like that...I am just stating the facts.

Oad seem to be another sub caste of them, this is good piece of so called gypsy of Pakistan.

"Most gypsies belong to the Changar, Odh, Bhatu, Jogy, Kenghar, Bazigar, Gurajmar, Gugray, Musalli, Marasi cast.

According to GH database there are over 15 million gypsies spread across Pakistan. Almost all of them are illiterate and without basic facilities such as pro!ision of drinking water, healthcare and education. According to a rough estimate there are around one million gypsies living in the suburbs of Lahore city. They beg, sing and dance, along with keeping snakes, picking rags, selling bangles, making canes, juggling, selling toys, and some daily wage labour."

But the little girl proved otherwise that now situation is changing and these deprived people now have access to fair educational system but still long way to go.

Long way to go especially if their population is 15 million, they are poorest people of Pakistan easily. Many of them seem to think they are doing all right as long as they get to eat 3 times a day.
