Not much differant from India. In 2011 it was 10% in India and 9% in Pakistan. In 2014 it was 18% in India and 14% in Pakistan. That differance does not equate to India being in another league. It is more or less in the same category - low penetration country.

Turkey, China or Iran are in another league at 50%, 45% and 40% respectively.

That would be me I think.
I based it on wiki page (india 58%, pakistan 17%).. yours is way better source I agree.

wiki page
Wiki sources are about as useless as quoting random members here at PDF and regarding that as authoritative source. It is wide open to abuse and it often is when it comes to do with anything contentious. You should know that. Jokers just edit Wiki entries to distort the hell out of the real facts.

this wiki page is properly referenced but the sources themselves are not as good. Internetlivestats, the first site that comes in google ranking to search such stuff is cited there(india 34, pak 17), in addition to some Indian news source. Also there is some issues with methodology involved some might use mobile penetration as an input for internet penetration(which is quite dodgy).

No it is not. Those who distort Wiki pages do so by using "primary sources" that in fact are not primary. If you follow the chain of referance you end up with dodgy source. Same here. Classic Wiki distorting going on.

World Banks is far more credible source than some third rate unkown source which does not cite how those figures were garnered. I could easily find some cheap Pakistani website. Use that as source and edit Wiki.

The numbers are not correct.
I can bet on that.
In a country where more than 3/4th of the population carries mobile phones, have accounts in FB and whatsapp, this number is too low.

On topic:
I like the forum.
It takes years of hard work to maintain a site like the way the administrator has maintained it.
I come here to read a few articles every day. Being opinionated, I post my views too.

I support @hinduguy on this (usually we hold divergent views).
.
You just need to follow the chain, check the references given at the wiki page and you will realize that @Kaptaan was right. :)

Sure due to huge population, the number of users in India will be more and that is the reason we were comparing in %
ACTUALLY, we were comparing to understand, HOW much PERCENTAGE of average Pakistani could be expected to share there views and contribute here.
