IDEAS INVITED for a Drone Neutralization System

Su-35's air superiority capabilities are greater than J-10 and it also allows deeper penetration into enemy's territory just like JH-7. China operates both Flankers and JH-7 but we don't have the same luxuriousness as China so we need a fighter which gives us deeper penetration into enemy's territory while maintaining outstanding air superiority.

Hi,

But you are still 50-60 aircraft short for the missing F16's----. How are you going to compensate for that---that leaves a big hole in the flank or the center-----.

The issue with the SU35 is that you will have to buy the russian weapons---russia will simply not let you use the chinese equipment---.

A JH7B can give air superiority once equipped with a 1500 T/R module aesa radar with ability to fire the sd10B and PL15 and PL12 off bore site missile.

It depends on how you utilize your equipment---,

J10, J11, J16, Jh7B or the SU35---the paf will have to move to do something.

It's called Pakistan Air Force.
He meant ground based systems, not the PAF! :P You don't need to scramble your F-16s to take out a drone!!

Here's one such system. Most such systems are not meant for destruction of the UCAVs per se but to disrupt them by ECM. This is far easier than shooting them down.

Blighter AUDS Anti-UAV Defence System

blighter-auds-anti-uav-defence-system-2.png

Blighter AUDS (Anti-UAV Defence System) is a counter drone system that is designed to disrupt and neutralise unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) engaged in hostile airborne surveillance and potentially malicious activity. The Blighter AUDS system combines electronic-scanning radar target detection, electro-optical (EO) tracking/classification and directional RF inhibition capability.

Blighter AUDS is a smart-sensor and effector package capable of remotely detecting small UAVs and then tracking and classifying them before providing the option to disrupt their activity. The system may be used in remote or urban areas to prevent UAVs being used for terrorist attacks, espionage or other malicious activities against sites with critical infrastructure.

AUDS Team

The AUDS Team brings together three leading British companies, each with the unique capabilities required to create an effective counter UAV system.

Blighter's A400 series air security radars
are able to DETECT small UAVs in all weather conditions, 24 hours a day flying in urban areas or near to the horizon.

The Chess Dynamics Hawkeye Deployable System (DS) and EO Video Tracker, featuring both a long range colour camera and a high sensitivity Thermal Imager (TI), along with state-of-the-art video tracking technology, is able to TRACK the UAV and, combined with radar target information, classify the target. The operator is then able to make a timely and informed decision to use the Enterprise Control Systems.

Enterprise Control Systems ('ECS'), smart RF inhibitor to selectively interfere with the C2 channels on the UAV allowing the system to DISRUPT the UAV's mission. The smart RF inhibitor uses directional antennas to achieve maximum range of operation with minimum colateral effect.

Taking out drone is easy good Air Defence systems along with Radars can do the job. In case of Pakistan the question is of will.
I agree with Molvi partially! its an easy job to take down Drones but what concern most is its consequences! Are you ready to enter into a war with USA a country which no major powers even wish to face in battle?

My solution is track where the drone lands and then fire a Nuclear armed missile on that base and destroy it

Use the Drone terror mentality on its user like it is used to Terrorize citizens in Pakistani border

Attack the base from where the drone flies and take out any communication towers

ahaha Sounds a bit GHadafi like strategy.......fire nuclear armed missile.....Sir aj ap bht gusse me lag rhe hain :o:

Much cheaper solution

No more drone issues after pacification of landing sites

YES, thank you. This is the correct concept that should be used on a mobile platform deployed periodically from where drone intrusion is expected. The best way to neutralize a drone is to deny radio or satellite signal guiding it. If Iranians can spoof the US stealth drone, bringing down a Reaper or a Predator should not be rocket science

Laser technology is the best solution

yes. i think indians are working on laser weapon system by the name of kali. I would like to know what Pakistan is doing in this regard. Question is to all in the forum

Kali is still a hypothetical system. What indians claimed about it have raised so many questions ( espacially about gyari sector incident). Well reportedly Pakistan has the capability of neutralizing the offensive tanks with laser technology.

I Think World Best Technology is Anti Satellite Missile which made by China .. No Satellite no Drones How can Operate Simple and also other system also finished by this technology Pic is also here for understand

we used to hear that laser weapon systems are installed to protect Kahuta nuclear facilities but nothing is confirmed i.e. no official confirmation exists by ISPR etc. I think it should be given serious concern and army should ensure its fast track development as it has the capacity to neutralize S 400 or any air threat in the future and drones will be nothing in its way. Regards.

Most modern military drones use Frequency hopping sequences, they dont use one frequency, they keep changing frequency over a broad spectrum.

They are working closely with china in this regard.

A UAV has many weaknesses:

1. It usually has no warning sensors of an incoming radar signal like RWR etc

2. It doesnt have CHAFF and Flares as standard counter measures.

3. They have straight wings for long loiter time like A-10 but at high altitudes and thus are not agile and manoeuvrable like fighter aircrafts. They fly slow and in straight line with slow turning.

4. Flying slow can also help a radar operator guess quickly that its a uav/ucav as it may have cross section of a stealth aircraft but speed of a very slow helicopter.

5. Most have big engines (e.g 900 hp) and turbo pop engines (Reaper MQ-9) that its hard to conceal heat signatures.

6. They may look small in sky but they are big in sizes usually.

UAV size.jpg

IDEAS:

DETECTION

1. Portable IR Sensor platforms optimized for UAV detection.

IRST not on an aircraft but on a ground vehicle operated by an AD battery.

2. Acoustic sensors.

UAV's do have noise because of heavier bigger engines although newer UAV's may have electric propulsion systems to reduce noise signatures.
Also, UAV operator may also shut down engine and let the UAV glide in risky areas by pre defining path and trajectory for a steady glide.

3. Most important. Targeting UAV datalinks.

UAV data link is its main vulnerability and a good EW suite can be used to locate and track UAV. This is where jamming a UAV comes in and high powered radars can be brought to use here.

ENGAGING:

1. Aerial Mines. They work just like anti-helicopter mines

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helkir_mine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgarian_anti-helicopter_mines

2. Shoulder based / Man Portable AD weapons

SAM's and AAA.

3. Using an Attack helicopter armed with Air to Air missiles.

The slow speed of UAV makes a helicopter suitable for engaging it rather than an F-16 almost stalling in air.

Kali is still a hypothetical system. What indians claimed about it have raised so many questions ( espacially about gyari sector incident). Well reportedly Pakistan has the capability of neutralizing the offensive tanks with laser technology.
