I would love to go there , May be next year . As for terrorism & foreign tourists , when we Pakistanis go to singapore or switzerland for our vacations instead of OUR NORTH why should Americans or Europeans come here !

This area is called upper Hunza (Gojal). They look like Germans, Samina Baig Famous climber belongs to this place..

That image was in the first post shared by fakhre mirpur ,in the article,?ijust took its ljnks out. Such bridges are common in gb,ajk, and i think kaghan ,naran side, they go over the lakes ,ponds etc, but ifind them tooo scary.

You are right, majority of people cant get through these bridge because of height phobia. I have grown up in mountain, even i get scare of such bridge.

But @fakhre mirpur this bridge is soooscary we have a similar one in our district. Never went over it.

Well in northern China & Russia, winter swim is not uncommon. Just don't stay too long in the water.

Been Blessed to Visit these Serene Places Twice (15 Days Each) in Past 6 years ... Due to my own laziness couldn't visit more ... But even After Detail Plans to Cover the Maximum Possible Terrain i m not able to Visit HALF of the Area of Gilgit Baltistan (Let Alone Naran Kaghan or Chitral Regions) .. it is HUGE & thr are So many Places to Visit ... So many Lakes & Glaciers, Trek, Highest of Mountains !!!!

Good thing is the Awareness of these area is increasing gradually with time ... more & more Pakistanis visiting thr .... Ofcourse indeed thr is a lot of room to make improvement in numbers as well as infrastructure situation, but it is for sure on an Upward trend ...

& if U overlook one specific base camp attack (which is NOT how the Media portrayed) ... Northern Area are MOST peaceful area in Pakistan ... the Good THings At times thr are no other human being for Miles other thn your own group !

We as Citizens should promote these areas to locals as well as foreigners for viable vacation venues ... Imagine Thr are ONLY 14 ... 28,000 Feet High Mountains in the WORLD and FIVE of them are in Pakistan ... & one of those Five (Nanga Parbat) is an Ideal trek; very easy and Accessible (Of course unless you are afraid of Heights) :p !
