The head of Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasser Janjua has said that Baloch youth need to know how they are being exploited by their so-called leaders who are themselves living in the lap of luxury in Europe but are stoking trouble in Pakistan.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the All Pakistan T20 tournament at Akbar Bugti Stadium. A fireworks display, cultural dances and songs were all part of the ceremony which continued into the early hours of Sunday.

Lt Gen Janjua, Commander of Southern Command, lashed out at the so-called leaders of separatist and insurgent groups, saying that people who had fled abroad to escape justice were raking in pounds and dollars from the enemies of Pakistan to destabilise the country. These so-called leaders of the Baloch people were leading young people astray in the name of independence and creating disturbances, he said.

The people of Balochistan are peace loving, a fact evident from the teeming numbers present in the stadium, he said.

The head of the southern command asserted that the youth in Balochistan are the pillars of the future of country and they love the county. He termed the concluding session of the T-20 as an historic day, adding that the Pakistani nation is ready to face every challenge.

Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai addressing the ceremony said that the situation in Balochistan was improving day by day. This will lead to prosperity and development in the province, he said.

He extended congratulations to the security agencies for making the dream of peace a reality in Balochistan. He said that although Balochistan is underdeveloped, its people are patriotic.

The Baluch insurgency is losing popularity, with more and more militants surrendering by the day. They've come to realize that an independent Baluchistan is an illusion that was merely propagated by rich foreign funded so called "leaders", whom live in luxury, while innocent Baluchis are tricked into dying for an imaginary cause.

It is a damn shame that the UK seems to be protecting a lot of anti-Pakistan groups and leaders, for the sake of "human rights". Thankfully, the UK seems to be coming around to Pakistan's way of thinking.

but what we need to do is to fill in the void, there surely is a gap left after, as you say, the locals have discovered that this independent Baluchistan is just an illusion and if turned into a reality it will only be for the benefit for the leaders living a luxury life abroad. IF that is the case, there is a void, a leadership gap, people look for someone to come to or rely upon. It is not the duty if central government to fill in this void, come to the rescue of our people, invest in the province and start some projects that will provide job opportunities to the locals and will bring up standard of living there. Education, health and right to justice should be made available to everyone. I will love to see RAPID developments at Gawadar and Baluchistan getting the lion’s share of the profits from there. Also will love an EXCELLENT road link, on par with motorways to link Gawadar to central Baluchistan and then all the way up to KPK and Punjab. These projects won’t take ages, if we start building these road links now it can be completed in 4 5 years max. Once done these will not only serve as the CPEC but will generate massive investment opportunities. Need to set up some wind mill farms on the costal belt to prove cheap/even free electricity to any new industry in that province. Business community will rush to that place once they know that is profitable, security situation will also be improved with growing involvement of government and people in that that area. Need to step up and make what is ours, our very own!

Totally useless. No Bloach is going to believe that. You killed their leader Akbar bukti and now you are perusing them by organizing the tournament. I have seen some documentaries on Baluchistan. They are very heart people. I do not believe that any such T20 sort of measure shall help.

Tujhay kyun jalan ho rhe hai?

Surrender does not mean they started believing something. Even if I take that as an criterion, One question shall arise. What proportion of total rebel surrebder. May be 0.01%. or something in that proportion. So 99.99% are against.

Tujhay kyun jalan ho rhe hai?

Muje bilkul hi Jalan nahi Ho rahi hai @Max Pain. Be Min Pain. than you will understand what i want to say.

Surrender means accepting authority of Pakistan and its government. Surrender means they are leaving path of terrorism and violence. It means a lot. Total Baloch rebels are not greater than at most 3000 militants spread on more than 300000 sq km of Baluchistan. a surrender of 100 militants is a major setback for such kind of low level insurgency.
