Heatwave kills 90 more in Andhra, Telangana; death toll crosses 800

RIP

One thing about heat stroke is you won't know it happens until it's too late, simply the condition outside would make you think you are carry on as normal and impede your decision making ability. Simply saying the symptom of heat stoke is exactly the same you would expect when you are under a hot sun. Sweating, lethargy and dehydration.

Heat stroke do not kills people, it's the dehydrating condition that get to you, once your body enter a dehydrating condition, your internal organ started to shut down to preserve its function, and once it's your kidney stop working, basically you build up toxin inside your body and within 1 to 3 hours, you will die from an cardiac arrest.

Solution is simple, drink heck a lot of water. It is estimated if you are to exercise or are active directly under a hot sun, you need to have 8 times of normal water uptake to keep yourselves from dehydration, it would most likely require 1 Litre of water per hour of labour. Drink even if you not feeling thirsty, because your body will tell you that you already had enough as it was normally accustomed to, but not under extreme heat condition.

heatwave move from pakistan to india, but here in pakistan none die because of heatwave in last few weeks(as i know). how can it kill near 800 persons in India??
Some people might have died but your administration might not functioning properly to take their count.Another thing is Pakistanis are used to heat waves from central Asia and Rajasthan even during moderate seasons;south Indians on the other hand receive heat waves only during severe may summer.

i know its a bit hot,but how can one just die due to that? :what:
48 c is common in northern India. In summer time But the temp is never that high in south and central India. So the people if Andhra and telangana are not habituated to face sudden increase in temp. Resulting in heat strokes and death.
Heck in Bangalore temp rarely rises above 35. If suddenly reaches 45+* it will be catastrophe for the locals.

That's true global warming has led us here. Global warming is not a drastic phenomenon, what I meant by past was temperature in past few years. It's very hot in Pakistan also but people here have kinda acclimatized plus they take precautions, you won't see much people on roads during hot hours.
Exactly sir. Even in north India, Gujarat etc people are more or less acclimatised. However in Andhra from where the reports are coming such extreme temp is recent phenomenon and people are not acclimatised .when I was in north India .. 45c temp was fine with me but after 6,years,in Bangalore I can hardly resist temp above 35c

WTF !!!??!! ???? If the mercury rises above 40 here in Aussie during summer we get paid leave due to the health hazard.. And in Lanka they issue public warnings to stay indoors but it hardly goes over 38 in SL
Humidity in Lanka keeps weather down;you will hardly see a coastal city hitting 40 degrees anywhere around the world..40 degrees temperature(around 45 most of the times) is common in India from late April to second week of june (till June last in north)..it is not just heat that kills people,it is heat waves coupled with heat..40 degrees in Australia is same as 50 degrees India(which it will never touch).Australia being near deteriorated ozone layer and relatively being nearer south pole receives more heat than India in summer

temperatures have increased , effects of global warming , it can be seen. Also climate change , untimely rains etc its all becoming a fast reality.
I don't know whether it is due to global warming or clearing of trees for constructions and the increased number of air conditioners and vehicles but the heat has definitely risen compared to say 15 years ago...Indian summers have always been severe but even then it was very rare for people to confine themselves to their houses for the whole day...we children used to play until 11 in the morning and start again at 4 in the evening when it was still somewhat hot...it was not often our parents would complain for going out in that sun..The nights without coolers or ACs(though uncomfortable) were manageable.. none of those things are possible now.

My heart bleeds to see courier boys, post men, daily wage construction labourers seeing them working in such hot weather...these people should be paid twice the amount in summer.

black skin of South Indians absorbs heat (just try wearing black shirt in the sun vs white) so that increases percieved heat by +10 Celsius
You can shut your bloody mouth....south Indians are no darker than Pakistanis..Tamil nadu alone doesn't make south India(even there not all people are black)..Khyber pakhtunwa alone doesn't make pak(even there you can find dark skinned)...most of the punjabis in Pakistan are brown coloured just like many south Indians..if skin color has anything to do with it no European should die of heatwave(many European over the years have died of heat wave).
I am repeating...it is not heat that kills..it is heatwaves .

Exactly

I know the Black theory but it don't have much worth if your are wearing different types of shirts other than black..

exactly man thats what even i have noticed ...10 years back when we were kids summers were not that bad as it is now and we use to even have timely rains , i think its mainly because of cutting of trees , many apartments have come up and they keep cutting trees to expand highways , even in our city itself when we visit a locality which has more trees and greenary you won't feel the heat and its very cool & breezy.

Damn wtf here in Arabia it is hardly touching 40 degree and in asia it's 45.

Do people die of heat waves in Arabia?have you people for uses to high temperatures or does it still bother you?do you people go out in afternoons?

No i never heard of any casualty due to heat stroke. And no it doesn't bother me but does to people i know. I can definitely say that this is due to the fact that people are overly dependent on ACs.

For example if the temperature is 37 or 38 people still turn on the ACs in cars and which makes more heat because cars have to get rid of the heat in engine.

We go out in afternoon and my colleague start to sweat alot but not me WHY Because i dont use the dam ACs. Why put pressure on your car when it's already hot and make create more heat by turning on the ACs

I dont get it, what I heard is temp hit 45 degrees which is normal summer temp so how come so many deaths.

you will get roasted at 48 celsius

thats normal temp in Southern Punjab and Sind and Even Lahore

you will get roasted at 48 celsius

some part of sind and baluchistan (Sibbi and Jacobabad) highest recorded temp is 54 degrees
