Mag release and the magwell looks like a Ak platform. So does the gas block. Mu suspicion is this is as Ak'ish derrivative underneath the nice injection molding pieces on top.

The zh 05 Is a Chinese knock of of the XM 25 American vand the k11 Korean OICW .The weapon fulfills partiality all requirements except the grenade launcher which unlike its American and Korean counter parts isn't automatic and the grenade has to be manually loaded. My preference is the K11 even the Mongolia bought 140 units.

XM25 is purely a 25mm grenade launcher, and the chinese system is just an assault rifle.
K11 and XM29 systems can support 20 mm grenade rounds with 5.56 Nato . Both K11 and H&K Xm29's have a AR styled machined receiver.
Now look at the chinese system, the mag release and the Mag orientation and the gas tube looks very much like the AK. The dimple on the receiver and magwell looks like a stamped receiver. It might be an advanced AK variant with computer assisted sights and night vision.
