I thought, Turkey wanted to become more independent, so it went with Altay and that the fact that the 2A6 won the Greek tender automatically disqualified it in Turkish tender.

That's one aspect of it...but at first we showed interest on 2A6, Germany declined.

As you can see in the video, upgrade is not only limited with armor modules only.

Additional info: Roketsan of Turkey reported sometime ago, they have successfully developed Boron-Carbide armor of the Altay. Maybe they will switch the armor modules with the indigenous ones if TAF orders upgrade of the Leos.

Not saying i don't believe you, it's entirely possible Greeks caused an uproar and Germans decided due to the exposure of the German banks to Greek economy it's best to keep them satisfied and continue lending them money to spend on German weapons.

I didn't watch the video, i just know that Aselsan made the FCS. It could be based on ToT you got from Sabra, i don't know. In any case, i just wanted to clarify with this simple example on the notion that Germany withdrew it's support after all the good Turkey has done for it (that insinuation it lost it's empire out of the goodness of it's heart brought me to tears, as iirc Turkey was offered alliance by the British, but Germans simply offered more)

You should watch the video..FCS is Volkan 2 (Aselsan upgraded volkan 2 into volkan 3 for Altay) indigenous design as far as i know. Seyrüsefer ve Aviyonik Sistemler | Çözümlerimiz | ASELSAN

It´s really a new Beast and the best Tank.

Not exactly.... it says "German government, removed it's concern and will send a sample"...that's it. Not removing block of sales.

Ya, but i was assuming that if you send a sample to be evaluated, then you intend to sell. I found something more conclusive here, seems one part of the government coalition was fiercely against the sale.
