How UK is becoming American. British People adopt more and more Black Friday

Good, this promotes local industries and gets consumers out to stimulate their economy. What's the downside? So long as no one gets stabbed, I can't see why doing a bit of shopping is a bad thing.

This kind of stuff is to be expected with US dominance over the media and a good portion of every industry there is out there, so yeah, you can say British people are adopting American culture. The thing is, a good part of America's culture is British. It's more of an exchange the way I see it but nowadays it's true that American culture is overshadowing British culture.

EU is father and inventor of America so this is expected.

Black Friday is in Russia aswell as plenty of other nations, its a shit day anyway. Crappy items that get knocked down 10% to a price that they have already been on sale for, the only good deals are online on amazon and a few other websites, these fools going into shops fighting over horrible quality unbranded tv's to save a few £ are fucking morons, pay for quality not shite.

However it's better to see how is British members view on this, but personally I believe for the concept of culture to stay dynamic and productive over the time, it should be floating back and forth like the waves of an ocean, or else it should no longer be called culture but tradition.
So as long as it's not hurting the locals heritage, I'd rather call it cultural connection.

Its not just the UK. Many countries have become Americanized. You have Starbucks and McDonald's everywhere. And, also hollywood movies.

Given the photographs I would say it looks like "Black Friday" in more ways than one.

what do you expect? UK is the errand boy of US these days.

I pity the fools standing in queues for hours for a measly discount.

Yeah I noticed this here in the UK for the first time that the "black Friday" craze was around. Ask most people here they won't have a clue what black Friday is even meant to be (the day after thanksgiving) just that it signals a sale.

I agree it shows the decay in British society's independence and a subversion to American culture.

bullshit.
Everybody likes discount.. its an american marketing invention but suitable for any country that celebrate chrismas in a big way.
It makes perfect sense to have holiday buying more speardout and done a bit early so that people can spend more.

Call it brownday... and use another day like monday .. as long as it is near chrismas and you give deep discount, you will succeed.
disclosure: Did buy a few things... :)
