American F-16s Aren’t Supposed to Dogfight MiG-29s and Su-27s

F-16 and MiG-29 are the same class, medium size fighters. Su-27 and F-15 are large size fighters.
 
A slightly misleading title which is rather common for the source of the article. What it cites is a reduction in Air to Air combat training considering the focus of the US Air Force F-16s is multirole ground attack.. while the F-15C is essentially only for the air to air role.

This has NOTHING to do with the implications of whether the F-16 as an aircraft is effective in taking on the Mig-29 or Su-27.
 
Highly misleading article, F-16s are fully capable on taking Mig-29 and SU-27s in air to air role. The original idea back in 1970s when F-16 was on drawing board, was to create a multipurpose fighter, active in both roles Air Combat and dedicated ground attack. USAF has primarily used F-16 in heavy ground attacks because they have F-15 strike eagle for air superiority roles. Other Air-forces who operate F-16 uses this jet as per their requirements.

Actually F-15 strike eagle is used in ground attack,it was made for strike purpose out of F-15eagle.
 
You can have a dog fight flying a propeller based plane , provided it has a good Missile on board and radar
You still have 30% chance of kill


F16 can take on any adversary , but the question is how many can it tackle in 2 minutes

Modern Jets can engage 10-15 targets in 45-60 seconds

f-16 vs propeller plane?, i highly doubt the propeller plane has anywhere remotely near 30% chance of victory, more like 0.003%

they are not .

F-16 is a multi-role fighter whereas Mig-29 is an air-superiority fighter .

in normal (equal) conditions , Mig-29s are capable of taking on F-16s easily .

F-15 on the other hand , is another story ......
 
Around the world in mock drills between F-16 and MIG-29s the F-16 has come on top.
