Pakistani cop hacks detainee to death with ax for 'blasphemy’

Sickening

Both the guy and the police officer!!!

The guy didnt let it go and the police officer didnt control! RIP!
first, the victim was clinically insane secondly he has no one to speak for him and give an independent account
all you got is the claim from the killer and his colleagues who keep an Axe in the Interrogation room

go figures, it seems like it was a premeditated murder and he was never going out alive from the "interrogation room".

The murder is for certain, the blasphemy part is questionable as the arrested was conveniently murdered without a defense... Seems blasphemy is becoming an easy excuse out to get away with murder and prejudices against minorities..

But you will see that many people would blame the victim rather than condemn the murderer, yet another sign of a whole society gone mad.

It's like the murderer is trying to galvanize support by making this about the insult of religion and prophet...when it comes to the religion, the people of the subcontinent seem to lock away logic and throw away the keys!

I remember when a Christian priest and his son were burned alive in India... The convenient excuse was that they were "converting" people... All of a sudden a horrific crime started to be rationalized... Pathetic!

Of course the murderer would try to justify his crime, but the real scary part is when society at large begins to agree with him.

Very sad indeed. Someone I know whose father was shot dead in broad daylight (for opposing blasphemy laws), now lives full time in India - what a shame!

Is this issue of blasphemy just as bad in Karachi and Islamabad too?

The whole country has gone mad. Hyperbole? No, just a frank evaluation of the evidence.

Here's my problem, Pakistanis in my opinion are liberal for the most part, the problem is that the extremist minority voices are so loud and so violent that even a generally liberal people are afraid to speak up fearing consequences...hence you have a situation with dissolution of responsibilities....no ones willing to take charge
The ones who step up like the minister in Punjab get gunned down and their families kidnapped or threatened..
The problem is more with the constitution than the people... Unless you think otherwise...I am but an outsider looking in, so my view is obviously limited

There was a time when what you say was true, but not anymore. The mental gangrene has spread far and wide now.

When did you move to the US from Pakistan? Me and some of my Pakistani friends have been here since college and I see a progressive change in them from wanting to move back at some point to now permanently settling herein theUS..so I hear what you're saying and this might have a lot to do with it..

A very poor excuse hence the world doesn't buy it. You are, what you do. The very sum of the choices, you make. No one bothers, if what you are doing, isn't found in Islamic texts.

I read it 5 times then I gave up, if it was an IQ test I have poor IQ

I remain connected with Pakistan in many ways Sir. Only three types of Pakistanis go back: those who cannot hack it here, or are part of the elite, or are dead.
