Marine Dad Banned from School After Complaining About Islam Homework

I'm proud of the Armed forces and my country.
we aren't saints.

oh Gosh at least someone accept , the reality ...

back to topic...

the US peoples has to realize that problem is not the Islam or its teaching but those peoples who are mis using it ...

some would say it was an invasion others would call it a liberation from a tyrant.
all was going fine til the insurgency from a small group of terrorist Iraqis who in turn where probably just foreign mujahideen later on.

Yea, what a liberation. Do you even watch news?

What if a Marine dad were a Muslim and banned from school about Judaism Homework?

You do understand that practicing and learning have two different meanings?
What do you call something which you dont want to learn and still is being forced upon you? I call it imposing. In this case, Islam is being imposed on the child who is not interested in learning it.

That’s school you don’t get to choose what you learn (not until later on e.g. college) if I had that choice I would have just done Science, I.T, Sports and would have never done maths.:P

Well...why not give them an option rather than imposing something which you dont like?

Not every kids have an option? Do you really think kids are matured enough to choose a subject by themselves?
And kids do not have a option. The syllabus for the year are provided in advance. We studied in India, yo know that. Majority of kids hate history. If they had been given an option, no one would have chosen it. And I do believe, kids arent matured enough to be given an option. They are given option in high school anyway. They can choose.

God, I hated that....

Marine Dad Banned from School After Complaining About Islam Homework

View attachment 140946
A veteran of the Marines got upset over his daughter’s high school assigning homework about the tenets of the Muslim religion and complained to the school. His complaint got him banned from school property.

Kevin Wood was angry at how La Plata High School supposedly forbids students from practicing Christianity in school but they’re okay with Islam as a homework assignment. Wood said that when he called the school, he said, “You could take that Muslim-loving piece of paper and shove it up your white ***.” And in another call, he said he would get the media involved and “bring a shitstorm down on them like they’ve never seen.”

The school says they banned Wood because they were seriously concerned about him threatening them. A spokesperson for the high school said, “He was threatening to cause a disruption or possible disruption at the school.” Wood’s wife said in response, “People do not understand what he endured when he was over in Iraq, and he lost friends, and he lost brothers and sisters to these people.”

Regardless of all the diversions that this thread has already taken, the real story here is the disagreement of one individual over the material taught in his child's school, and the rights of the school to determine the curriculum. Such discussions are a matter of routine in school board meetings, and it is important to note that the process to define school curriculum remains open and fair.

What the noble Marine failed to understand here is that the school cannot force the students to practice any religion, but it can have its student body learn about all religions. As long as these policies apply equally to all religions and their practice, what the school is doing is correct and proper, and this is the principle being upheld.

'Murrica. See here's the problem when children don't learn properly.

'US Americans'
'Don't have maps'
'Like, such as in, South Africa, everywhere such as..'
'Should help South Africa'

Please America, 'build up your future, for your children'.
p.s. no offence to Miss Teen USA-SC, Sarah Palin still makes her look like a scholar.

Abu Ghariab happened long before "those foreign Mujahideen" caused insurgency.
As far as Liberation from a Tyrant, who asked you for it did you get a formal invitation from majority of Iraqis...Since you were on the liberation spree how about Saudia Arabia?

change your sentence to "everything was going fine in the world till you people choose the dumbest person on this planet as your president"

Part the school's reply here:
Students learn aspects of other religions as well, O’Malley-Simpson said. When studying the Renaissance era, they are taught aspects of Christianity and the role it played in the reformation. When students learn about China and India, Hinduism and Buddhism are both discussed, she said.
In Pakistan I too was taught about Buddha and Ashoka and all those other non-Muslims who influenced the world. What's wrong with learning about it? Deal with it Americans, Muslims did contribute a lot to the world, doesn't matter what you think, History is History and Fact is Fact.
I don't get why people like this 'marine dad' want their children to remain ignorant and gullible fools. Personally I'd gladly learn about others' religions, doesn't mean I'd suddenly convert as soon as I read one sentence about them. If this guy thinks Islam is wrong, don't keep his child ignorant, explain why he thinks that. But then, well, no information is better than misinformation.

:tsk:
