First Sukhoi-30 overhauled at Nashik, highlights HAL’s growing capability

I do believe our political LEADERSHIP. When the man at the top is a lion, the rest of them grow spines. I am less worried today.

Yeah. Same here.

In fact, the military is far more happy. My brother serves in the Siachen right now and just on Diwali had the fortune to meet PM Modi ji.

He described the moment as ecstatic and very jubilant when all soldiers got a huge morale boost. Never had a leader of India ever spent time and respected our soldiers. Not only us civilians but also our soldiers have tremendous faith in him now.

But what I meant to say is that we will SERIOUSLY have to speed up projects that Al Khangress deliberately screwed up for 10 years.

Which surely is one of the good things he does or brought in, but it's only worth it, if there is substance behind it! You have to look at the delays the PM causes in defence modernisation, just to push his economic agenda. At the end of the day, the performance and security of our forces, especially in these extreem conditions are bound on the arms and techs they have and not only by a moral boost that politicans give. The LUH that IA is asking for, are specifically aimed on the use in high altitude areas, so by delaying that important procurement, he is not adding substance to the moral boost. And we can see the same difference bettween the obvious PR and the results on several recent occasions, like the foreign trips to Japan or US, which both had huge PR parts for the public, but very low substance on the political level. So you have to look beyond the PR too and judge the actual performance of the PM and the new government, to see if things get better or worse. Give him credit for the moral boost, but also criticize for the bad things that happens and don't!

Yet the last crash is being attributed to the K-36D seat. Odd considering that these seats were generally considered the next best thing to Martin Baker.. A manufacturing or maintenance fault perhaps then?

The latest mishap was the fifth crash to have involved the multi-role type in Indian service, and has called into question the safety of its Zvezda K-36D ejection seats. The nation's Su-30MKIs have also been dogged by trouble with the type's NPO Saturn AL-31FP engines and a poor serviceability rate, according to informed sources.

Does india do any exercises with IDAF?

Israeli pilots in F-16s vs indian pilots in Su-30MKI would be the best training IAF can get in DACT mode.

Israeli pilots and tactics are the closest thing to PAF tactics and pilots, according to my source who works in Turkish Air Force and has seen many Anatolian Eagle exercises involving F-16s and pilots of many nations.

Both forces are similar in sense that their training is based more on "pilot innovation/freedom" in tactics rather than "going by the book of experience" as NATO pilots get trained.

So you think that your pilots are superior than American pilots, Right?

Our pilots? No, our pilots just get trained according to NATO standards since Turkey is a NATO member.

Not superior to Americans, but aren't "inferior" either. Our pilots are Western-quality pilots like that of France, U.K, and Germany etc.

I meant Pakistani pilots, Duh.

They are really good. Really good.

But won't compare them to U.S pilots.

USAF is a whole different universe.
So good

The Aviationist » Exclusive: F-16 gets killed by Typhoon during air combat training in first Eurofighter HUD capture ever.

So basically to make your rather weak argument you came up with one photo showing a F-16 getting "killed" from the airforce that holds the premier air exercises which every nation in the world lines up to participate in(including yours). The funniest thing is that you have obviously bookmarked this as a feel good link to bring up if anyone mentions the Pakistan airforce exchange kills on the Typhoon(which ironically this link also neither proves or disproves) and in this case does not even mention which airforce the Typhoon is fighting against.

Please avoid feel good links because they only make you look like a self fellatio noob.

The USAF is the worlds largest air aim with the most experience in Air combat. And if a ratio is taken it still has the most experienced pilots in the world.. possibly more than the rest of the world combined.

Are you fucking retard? Whats the purpose of posting this picture?

Is it TUAF/PAF/IDAF F-16? If yes, provide proof.

And even if it is, whats the point?

lol, stupid indians....

HAL is capable of delivering this project in time, if pressed enough. Now with direct PM's involvement in this manufacturing, they'll be under constant pressure to perform and deliver the LUH in time.

If we are not careful, we will never come out of the whole import-urgent need-equip cycle. Somewhere someone has to take initiative to come out of this vicious cycle. IMO the PM is just doing that.

LUH is based on HAL Dhruv, a design which is tested and proven. It needs a serious push from the government which now it has. A 200-helicopter order for LUH and its subsequent maintenance would be a massive boost to not just the army but also to the ecosystem of aerospace and defence.

Okay. Okay. Okay. I didn't read the link properly and mis-interpreted this to mean that the video consisted Turkish F-16 being downed (with Pak pilots). My Mistake
The video answers to the some articles published in 2011 about claims that Pakistan Air Force’s pilots scored Typhoon kills during DACT taking place in Turkey, during Ex. Anatolian Eagle. According to such reports, Pakistani pilots on exchange with the Turkish Air Force, and flying TuAF F-16s, scored kills against RAF Typhoons in WVR (Within Visual Range) gun contests (even if no evidence was provided to support claims fueling the theory that the of fighter pilot tall story).
Argument withdrawn
