In return get whole of Indonesia flattened by US?
Since the foundation of Singapore, it had a strong military culture so I wouldn't be surprised why they invest in defence industry because it's a deeply integrated part of their country. It doesn't have any animosity against either Malaysia or Indonesia. Strong military is just purely for the show and it can afford to fund the military because of high GDP.

. Singapore in past had been threatened by Malaysia, Indonesia and terrorist organisation from Indonesia

That was a long time ago and compulsory military service was introduced as a result of that. Even in Singapore's weakest times, Malaysia didn't dare to invade.Singapore is even planning for a heli carrier too

Yeah, in present scenario, Singapore got no threat and moreover ASEAN platform had helped all the countries to be united.
Moreover, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and UK have signed a defence pack so we are totally secured
