There may be something else to the murder of Khalid Khawaja. In January 2010, Second in Command to Mullah Omar, Muallah Baradar was captured by Pakistani and US security agencies. Later it was cleared that this capture was not planned but it was accidental. Pakistani agencies denied CIA access to him for at least two weeks and then on February 25, 2010 Khalid Khawaja filed a constitutional petition to block any transfer of prisoners. To date, Mullah Barader is still in Pakistan.
This annoyed the CIA who were expecting enormous amount of information to be be obtained from Mullah Barader. Only about a month later Khalid Khawaja and Colonel Imam were kidnapped and later murdered, most probably at the behest of CIA.
