Akdal Akdal TR-01 pistol is a new product from Ucyildiz Arms Ind.Ltd. It is a compact semi-automatic pistol which is obviously intended for police, security and civilian (where permitted by law) use. It appears to be heavily influenced by other pistols in its design, although Akdal Akdal pistol has improved ergonomics, especially in the grip area.

Akdal Akdal TR-01 pistol is short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It uses modified Browning-type locking, in which barrel engages the slide with single lug, entering the ejection window. Unlocking and locking (lowering and rise of the barrel) is controlled by cam-shaped projection below the chamber, which interacts with steel insert, removably set into the polymer frame. The pistol is striker-fired and utilizes pre-cocked striker, which is put to full **** by the pull on the trigger. In case of the misfire, user has no 'second strike' capability and must cycle the slide to re-**** the striker to its pre-set state. Pistol also has no manual safeties; instead, it has automatic trigger and firing pin safeties. Magazines are double stack, holding 15 rounds of ammunition, with magazine release button located at the base of the trigger guard. Sights are fixed, and dovetailed into the slide. (The adjustable sight is also available) .The polymer frame features removable backstraps (of different sizes), and an integral accessory Picatinny rail below the barrel.

The Akdal Ghost TR-01 and TR-02 is a piece of junk. And it hasn't been adopted by the New-Zealand Police, the above link is about the type of weapons ALLOWED in New-Zealand.

The TR-01 and TR-02 is available in Pakistan and it's one of the most hated pistol over here. Almost all the customers came back with the pistol unsatisfied.

Market repute for Akdal Ghost is not good, those who used it say that it has problems; like it fails to feed quite often and also jams.

Akdal Ghost has a tendency to deform the bullet casing which leads to a FTE (Fail to Eject). Its got a cheaply made internal firing pin mechanism which doesn't strike the primer the way it should which in return leads to FTF (Fail to Fire).

Overall, I wouldn't suggest this to anyone. It's available for only 30K in Lahore market.

Bezerk bahi are you sure that these are not domestic made copies? AFAIK this weapon was designed and produced for the Turkish police, brand new these weapons should be fine? I've never had or used one but the internal mechanisms should be sturdy if having been used in police training and use in Turkey for a while? However it does look like a Glock ripoff in my view. I'd rather stickwith Glocks any day, 30k rupees is chump change for the variety in Pak anyways. Perhaps this points to a subcontractor in Turkey making Ghost ripoffs for other markets who will allow such garbage, Glock 19 is a better choice at around 120k rupees. Go with an extra extended magazine by the way the grip is a little small to make up for the concealment factor that the Ghost was made withn the compact frame. If you are going to make only a few good investments go with Austrian. But a Turkish gun made for the police should be good in theory?

Also what is the difference between TR01 and 02?

Nope, these aren't domestic made copies. There's an influx of Turkish weapons in our markets these days, heck I even bought one myself just a few weeks back. It's called the "Piranha F" by Canik 55 and it's based on the CZ-75 SP-01 design. It's a fabulous firearm and I simply love it.

But the Ghost models are cheaply made and are full of flaws. It looks like a cross between the G17 and the Walther P99. There's not much difference between the TR01 and TR02. The TR02 was supposed to replace the flawed TR01 model but unfortunately its the same.

Anyway, if you go to the market and ask for these pistols, the dealer will tell you to avoid these knockoffs. I've held the TR01 and at first it seems like a nice piece but if you disassemble it, you'd get the idea about its unreliable craftsmanship.

P.S Glock 19 in Pakistan sells for over 250K.

Yes, you are absolutely right, severe issues with the quality. Asking price in Lahore market is 35k, and after bargaining one can get around 30K. Infact, I inquired from couple of dealers about Akdal Ghost, but none of them recommended it.

Damn thanks for the info bro, I would have never guessed Turkish arms would be so miserable. I'll keep this in mind. Is Mehmetcik available there yet?

Not sure about the Memetcik firearms, haven't seen them in the market yet.

These are the Turkish brands available in our market:

1. Stoeger
2. Canik 55
3. Zigana Sports
4. Sarsilmaz
5. Kanuni
6. Akdal
7. Girsan Yavuz
8. Armalite
9. Safir

Except for Akdal and Sarsilmaz (B6 is an exception), all other manufacturers are producing quality firearms.

It is the first time I have heart Akdal pistols but Sarsilmaz is so special in Turkey...
