im not denying that the holocaust happened.
however I've never understood why these "champions" of human rights and free speech ban "denial of the holocaust"

16 european countries +israel have made it illegal to deny the holocaust
punishment for simply denying something is that not denying people freedom of speech?
17 people have been persecuted for simply denying that the holocaust ever happened.

what do you guys think about this draconian law?

I have brought this up before and mind you I got absurd answers...everything Muslim countries do is against this "freedom of so and so" however all freedom goes down the drain when it comes to their laws!

What about it? :pop:

Freedom of speech is only applicable when it suits them. When it doesn't, then you are breaking an "international" law!!
My guess is if there is widespread rejection then the very reason for the existence of the state of Israel is questionable! Probably someone screwed up somewhere and is trying to bury it! If too many questions are asked or people's thinking is not administered there may be rejection of something that some are fearing...

Isnt there supposed to be freedom to believe and freedom of speech and whatever not freedom where state cant regulate your thinking or manipulate it?- eg. to agree or deny holocaust?!

You got it!!!

The good part is that people in the west are waking up to this hypocrisy, and secondly wondering why their hard earned money is being flushed down the toilet!

West have always used double standards since imperial times, they are using them now but with more cleverness.

Other question, why would somebody want to deny the mass murder millions of innocent people?

One cannot put his views about a holocaust but one can put views about religion with more than billion followers and its called freedom of speech, where the hell it goes when it comes to holocaust? anyone can differ to views or facts it human mind.

Nothing wrong in having such 'draconian' laws to prevent the sanctity of those who actually died in the Holocaust. Besides, denying the holocaust is akin to denying the occurrence of World War-2, IMO. Nothing wrong in forcing a few absurd folks to keep their opinions to themselves.

Btw, what are your thoughts about blasphemy laws? I support them.

i support freedom of speech.
i let people make their own beds.

@Aeronaut
can you add a poll to this thread?
the question is " do you support this law?"
options "yes" or "no"
and make it public so we know who voted for what.
@WebMaster
@Jungibaaz

not in UK. I agree its against freedom of speech. This should be dealt at society level, and educated society will treat them as idiots.

They were there to stop blood shed on religious basis and to stop non Muslims in falling some elements hand who may wanted to create religious rift by using them, although the law may not be used to its soul.

I agree that freedom of speech should have its limits, so no one can hurt others feelings.
