Winston Churchill once said "History will be kind to me for I intend to write it", and indeed how right he was, for almost every major school textbook and every major mainstream media source, be it documentaries or movies, has painted him in a good light. That too, despite the fact that this man had played a major role in the Bengal famine and mass starvations elsewhere in British Occupied Subcontinent, which resulted in the deaths of more than 4 million people, add to that countless more in other British colonies, who's populations combined numbered more than 500 million people.

Other similar inhuman policies of this man and his empire included the forced repatriation and handing over of millions of Eastern Europeans and Russians who fled the Stalinist Soviet regime during the years following the end of WW2 (Operation Keelhaul), many of whom were Soviet POW's who's fate Stalin had already sealed. Many of these people who sought protection in the Western Allies, only found themselves betrayed by the Western Allies and handed over to the Soviets and thus transported to Siberia where millions perished in the Gulags, never to be seen again.

Yet, this man goes down as a hero to many people who were never affected by his cruel and inhumane policies or the policies of the British crown. In israel, a monument has been erected in the honor of this man.

These are just a few of the many atrocities this one man and one empire are responsible for. One can't even begin to mention those committed by the other Western powers, their allies, and their leaderships (Roosevelt, Truman, and Stalin). Not many people are aware of the war crimes committed by these criminal leaderships/governments, mostly due to the fact that these men were the victors and they chose what would be taught to the generations to come.

And thus, it is rightfully said that History is written by the Victors, for the defeated side will forever be demonized, painted in infamy and propaganda, while the victors will shove their heinous crimes under the rugs and have many a good things written about themselves.

But as free citizens, let us for once view history through an objective and neutral lense, from an unbiased perspective. If we truly are free in the sense that we claim and believe ourselves to be, then let us not allow bias, lies, and deceit to cloud our judgement.

Now i will begin by introducing you to this brilliant documentary i stumbled upon online. A story of a man who has been continuously slandered, demonized, and painted as the greatest monster in human history, solely responsible for initiating WW2, and a story of a Nation which was (and still is being) punished for having strived for its own freedom, independence, liberty, preservation and right to peaceful coexistence amongst the nations of the world, and even to this day continues to pay the price.

For over 70 years we have been seeing, hearing, and believing one side of the story without any objection, let us at least for once give the other side an equal chance to present its side of the story.

Well, we don't know for certain if Hitler even said that. The quote has been found to be baseless, not even the mainstream conformist historians use this quote as evidence of Hitler himself confirming that he "gassed" 6 million Jews.

The book Mein Kampf has been fiddled with a lot. The original German version is rare.

Now, the last thing i want is for this thread to become another holocaust thread, so lets try not to take it down that path.

I agree with what you said there. But as you said yourself

Now, the last thing i want is for this thread to become another holocaust thread, so lets try not to take it down that path.

Its a very sensitive topic.

And the point is even if Hitler was not worse than Churchill and others. He was as bad, that is for sure. Because there are no heroes of justice, at least, in international politics. So my question is what would we get from throwing a positive light on his life?

Yes, I do agree that Germans were 'punished' for their crimes while the allies weren't but in that case wouldn't it be better to show how great the Germans are instead of how great one of the most hated person in the history was?

Had it not been for his humanitarian crimes, racism, bigotry and emotional decisions, he could have turned the course of history and today we would all be speaking German rather than English!

Watch the videos i posted, watch the whole series before passing any judgements. I posted them for a reason.

What is so great about Hitler?

That quote in his post is doubtful. Secondly, watch the videos i posted. There is no harm in understanding history from a different perspective.

Stupidity.

He should have learned from what happened to Napoleon.

Not only did he open up a second front against Russia (worst idea ever), but he also fought Russia during the Winter! Double stupidity!

In fact in the end, it was Russia who sealed the fate of the Nazis. The war on the Eastern Front was the killing blow for the Nazi war machine during WW2 in Europe.

Not only did he open up a second front against Russia (which was completely unnecessary), but he also fought Russia during the Winter! Double stupidity!

1). During the failed Communist uprising in Germany in 1918-1920 (way before Hitler even came into the political picture), the Red Army provided political and moral support to a Red takeover of Germany, when that failed miserably due to the German Nationalist militias and Army crushing the short lived Bavarian Soviet Republic, the Red Army under Leon Trotsky (real name Leon Bronstein) and Joseph Stalin actually made an attempt to invade and takeover Poland (yep, no declaration of war against the Bolshevik regime by britain and France) and thus directly takeover Germany.

Lenin had clearly made his objectives clear from the start, a communist expansion and takeover of Western Europe either through supporting revolution or through direct military takeover. Hitler's invasion of the USSR was completely justified.

2). Hitler invaded the USSR on June 22nd, 1941, which was during the summer. He could have invaded earlier had he not had to send troops to Yugoslavia and Greece to prevent the British from overthrowing the governments of the former country and from getting a foothold in the latter. He had no control over these factors.

In fact in the end, it was Russia who sealed the fate of the Nazis.

Of course Soviet Union sealed the fate of National Socialist Germany, after all the whole Soviet industry was geared towards war way before WW2 even officially started (1939). Soviet Union was more well prepared for a war than Hitler's National Socialist Germany. The whole point of Stalin's 5 year plans was to build a massive military industrial complex, instead of a economy that would have been beneficial for the people who lived within the boundaries of the Soviet Union. Millions died as a result of setting up this Soviet war machine.

In the March 26, 1992 issue of Izvestia, Russian presidential adviser Anatoly Rakitov stated:

"Over the last six decades, 80 to 90 percent of our national resources - raw material, technical, financial, and intellectual - have been used to create the military-industrial complex. Essentially, the military-industrial complex has absorbed everything that is good and dynamic that Russia has to offer, including its basic economic capacity and its best technology, materials, and specialists. Consequently, the military-industrial complex is virtually synonymous with our economy."

Hitler's invasion of the USSR was completely justified.

OK so Hitler started a war on the Western front by invading Poland, then France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. Then he went on to bomb Britain and invade Greece and Yugoslavia too.

Then he attacked those "bloody Communists" (the Soviet Union) in self-defense?

Even if that somehow made sense, then it was pointless in the end because he lost. The biggest reason for why he lost is because he opened up the Eastern Front by attacking the Soviet Union.
