I always like Musharaf, what a guy. And this muslim guy saying 70% of population will stand beside him, is staright lie. Actually I think he is tryting to show hindu of india that see even muslim people are with you and we are all together. Well hope that all muslim india feel the same way as he does.
But Mushraf I love you man you are a real man who can face this kinda a question. A true Pakistani Solider

Can somebody explain to me why so many people of Pakistan wanted this man to stop leading their country? The only reason I can think of is that they aren't educated enough to make such decisions properly.

Fifty Minute Well Spent watching this videos.Musharraf gave excellent answers.Whether hate or like him..you have to admit he is patriotic Pakistani.

to date, he is the only President of Pakistan i've seen answering questions from Indian people sitting in India with such a high level of confidence, this shows that he is a true and brave Pakistani citizen, no doubt about that.

every Pakistani President have had his place in Pakistani history but the time of Musharraf will never be forgotten to the pages of history.:smokin:

hats off to Musharraf:enjoy:

Maulana Madani doesn't even believe in Muslim Ummah. This what I observe from his lunatic questions. He doesn't feel connected to Muslim world outside India. He is less Maulana than a bloody politician who aimed to gain some cheap support from non Muslims. Where is this so called Maulana now when Varun Ghandi declare to behead Muslims if comes to power.

Former President Pervaiz Musharraf proven to be a leader after all......

Gen. Musharraf has demonstrated the elite and perfect discipline, intelligence, and training that is only acquired in the Military Academies of Pakistan. The courage he displayed was noble for any leader.

What Gen. Musharraf did, is not only amazing for a Pakistani leader, but for any Leader in the world, today or in the past. To have to face a hostile crowd of a Nation that you have fought many Wars with, and have ongoing major Geo-political confrontation over, is something remarkable for any Leader to do in this World and in this time.

I have yet to see any leader in modern times of a Christian, Muslim, or Hindu country to do same, in the same manner, same eloquence, same discipline, and same courage.

This in fact is on par with Pres. Richard Nixon's visit to China, if not beyond.

As an Indian, I agree to the viewpoint. He showed a lots of guts showing up in India, out of uniform and taking questions from anyone who wanted to ask. He answered them the best way he could. He may not have been right on all the counts, but frankly he is a man with whom one can talk.

From what I read, many writers for US/Indian media is pretty impressed with him too for being so open.

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind believes that the Muslims of India came to a agreement with India during establishment of the constitution to co-exist democratically. So their views on Muslim Ummah may be different from yours. But they are a legitimate voice of Indian muslims, they predate independence are very popular.

General Musharraf.

Brave man facing a hostile crowd of Indians all by himself.

Musharraf takes on all challengers from the audience in attendance.

No,Musharraf wasnt facing any hostile crowd. He probably face far more hostile crowd back home.

Its sophistacted elite whos who was present in that india today conclave who were going out of their way not embarras their guest ex -president Musharraf.Mind it ,Arun puri of India Today group sent an private plane to fetch Musharraf.

And when Mr madani made the sharpest comment of that evening ,he got all the accolade from the audience who were consciously polite all the time. There were few tough question for Mr Musharraf like one on Kargil which instanly evaded and stuck to his usual anti india stand with an eye to the constituency back home.

Finally for Musharraf, it turned out to be a great PR exercise for ppl back home in pakistan and his controversial tough statements made India Today conclave got more media attention.

A clear win win situation for both Musharraf and India Today Group, as its purpose served for both of them.

Years back , I heard the qoute, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going ! Pres Musharraf led his country well. Pakistan , I feel needs a President who has an iron hand , has pro Pakistan feelings and can admit and move on from his failures. All this characteristics , I believe Musharraf has.
Kargil happened, militants were sent to Indian Kashmir , but these are all parts of politics and warfare against an adversary who is doing the same !

To know the value of Musharraf, you can compare him to Zardari today. Indecisive, ineffective, clueless leader , of a nation that is at its lowest point in history.
