Taliban launch raids on Kabul and other Afghan targets

A Taliban spokesman said fighters were attacking embassies in the diplomatic enclave, Nato's HQ and the parliament building in the west of the capital.

Multiple blasts and gunfire have been heard across Kabul.

The Taliban spokesman said there were also attacks in Logar and Paktia provinces. There are also reports of suicide attacks in Jalalabad.

Nato said it had reports of attacks in seven locations in Kabul but there were no reports as yet of any casualties.

The British embassy was one of the targets, with two rockets hitting a guard tower. A rocket-propelled grenade was also fired into a house used by British diplomats, witnesses told Reuters.

taliban look loaded for another round whereas us is near surrender and asking for talks and the taliban are casually doing whatever they want. you have to admit this insurgency is one of the most ill equiped out their but they r by far the most resilient and successful

This seems to be a consequence of the US refusal to stop drone attacks in Pak.

This is a serious blow to the invading troops and their supposedly "Green Zone", the most secure zone in Afghanistan!

I hope you got yr answer !! ┌∩┐(●_●)┌∩┐

Remember what has been happening in Pakistan since the last attack on Indian embassy in Afghanistan.. Be careful what you ask for.. You may get it ;)

What an absolute fiasco........... the world most powerful Military along with its Allies and over 100,000 troops cannot even guard the smallest of zones, which they call the Green Zone from penetration but a rag tag group of people and they point the finger at Pakistan for not preventing Militants from crossing into the 1400 mile porous Afghan/Pak border................

Did anyone read the BBC article, all of a sudden, during the time of negotiations with the Taliban, they do not refer to them as terrorists any longer, its "Militants", and no longer cowardly attacks but "raids".......hmm

Sir, India has played a very very dangerous game of chess and it now knows what is coming its way, hence the massive Military spending going on right now by India as the biggest Arms purchaser........

When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, India worked its magic on Balochistan and despite a few attacks here and there out of Balochistan, most of the fighting was contained within Balochistan..... When the Soviets retreated, Pakistan replied back with Kashmir and despite a few attacks in India, most the fighting was contained within Kashmir.......Now India has gone the full monty and guess what, we are still here, and India knows all too well, when the US leaves, and it is a when as the very first clause of the Taliban has always been, NO US TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN which is something India is desparate not to have in reality.......when that does happen, what do you think will be Pakistan's reply..............In your own words "Be careful what you ask for.. You may get it"

The soul of a fighter does not resist foreign foot on his grounds.

Who told you that US is leaving AFGHANISTAN....

Who told you that US is leaving AFGHANISTAN....

Have you even read my post above or did you just jump onto the "reply with qoute" button......... I said it is the very first clause of the Taliban that they want ALL US troops out, no negotiation on that, OUT, just like Vietnam and others, OUT. The US has had many plans about Afghanistan, all failed, and this little plan of theirs of keeping bases in Afghnaistan will have a similar future
