MISTRAL is the best option...

Can you get information on prices of these and can you put the ranges of these as seperate.

Thanks in advance.
OK SPARKY I HAVE GIVEN THE RANGE & SPECIFICATION IN PICS ENJOY

oh common how can i know the price ,common give me a break

That really sounds good, now where can I go find two more heads for myself. :)

On-topic now, the Starstreak does seem to be loaded with possibilities. While MBDA may well be able to leverage thir existing presence with BDL to churn up more business.
BTW, the IGLA-S is present in pretty decent numbers with the IN and IA. Nearly every IN ship carries IGLA launchers inclding the new kid on the block the INS Chakra. In wartime, even the ICG OPVs will carry at least one launcher each.

The age of the Bofors 40mm L-70s are pretty much over. They can even cause "collateral damage" by unexploded shells falling out of the skies. Its happened in 65 and 71. Luckily only damage, no casualties. They could probably be handed over to BSF as "dug-in" Arty. to take out soft skinned vehicles and APCs; while firing over open sights. The L-70s are with the Army AD regts. in huge nos.

May I suggest BAE systems..
Three kill vehicles means a greater PK.
Although they have a comparably smaller warhead.. yet hold a higher chance of causing damage.

i hope there wont be a decade long evaluation.

Just give the orders to Thales or Saab and get over it.

Atleast UK wont be that dissapointed after the MRCA fiasco.

we r not here to impress any1.why cant DRDL make a good MANPAD???? it has already got the igla tech, has a substantial success with akash sam,so i think there would be no problem for them to pull this one out

well french mistral may be a dark horse in the race:drag: but as the thread itself states

This missile has already been selected to equip the Indian Dhruv Helicopter; therefore MBDA does have an advantage in terms of logistics and ordinance management. Moreover, the company has a production line for MILAN missiles established in India by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), where Mistral missiles could be produced, if the company wins this program

so who knows

at this time which portable missile are use by indians
plz kindly read the thread it is stated there itself

SA-18 Very Short Range Air Defense Systems

well atlast if india didnt buy any SHORAD system like artillery system for their army ,then atlast we would be forced to develop our
own system like india is planning to develop it's own artillery system :coffee:
