Germany illegally removes Press TV from SES Astra

Under pressure from the German government, Munich media regulatory office (BLM) has made an illegal decision to remove Iran's international English Channel, Press TV, from SES Astra at 19:00 local time on Tuesday.

In an email sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) officials, Vice President of the SES Platforms Services, Stephane Goebel, noted that the BLM has asked Press TV be immediately removed from the platform.

The authority has claimed that Iran's English-speaking channel does not have a license for broadcast in Europe.

“BLM has…sent us an official request to immediately seize the service of the above-mentioned channel [Press TV],” Goebel noted.

Regretting the decision, Goebel added that his company “will be no longer able to keep the Press TV signal on air and will need to shut down the service without further notice.”

The move is clearly part of a plot orchestrated by the West to silence the voice of the Iranian English-language channel.

PressTV - Germany illegally removes Press TV from SES Astra
-----------------------------

UK banned Press TV on a fake violation charges, Germany banned because of a license (which doesnt exist for anyone else), viewers report Italy and Belgium already did the same without any announcement. Welcome to the free World! The only "information" allowed is from pro-Zionist media.

Why would the Munich media regulatory office allow a fake news service that reports fake news stories to operate?

Even this PressTV article reporting the news that they have been banned has fake and false information in it.

It's not illegal for the Munich media regulatory office to deny a license to PressTV, it's their job to allow or deny. This is why PressTV is banned, constantly reporting false information.

Their license obviously recently got cancelled.

the same reason they allow all the other fake news media like CNN, BBC, etc to operate.

They aren't fake.

PressTV is an Iranian government company that pretends to be an independent news service, while in reality it reports fake news stories written by the Iranian government.

It's the same as North Koreas state media.

PressTV is basically like Onion News, which is a fake comedy news service on the internet except PressTV isn't for comedy purposes.

If it's fake news, then why U.K and Germany are so scared allowing it's broadcast? No one is supposed to listen to fake news.Maybe it says somethings that they don't want their people to hear it.Maybe truth.

Besides,it's still better than Kangaroo news.

^^@xdrive Same goes for CNN and BBC. You won't see them broadcasting news that harm their own countries' interests. Just that the Western news channels are more entertaining. :P

Most counties have a strict media code of conduct. A news service can't just make up crap and report it. It's lying and its misleading the public, so of course countries aren't going to allow a fake news service that reports fake news to broadcast.

How is that different from all the other "News" companies?
BBC is funded directly by the government as well.

And remember the run up to War in Iraq? I dare you to say that that western "news" media were not disseminating propoganda

it appears you are 100% sure as to your claim, could you plz prove it by some examples ?

so much for freedom of speech in "tolerant europe"

i always thought Press TV "marketed" itself as the "unofficial" state news of Iran

some of the articles i've seen on that website seemed incredibly bogus; or inaccurate. But then again, its just another media channel.

this just MAYYYY have something to do with the West's aspiration to continue pressure on Iran.....obviously if they perceive PressTV to be the mouth piece of Iran, they'll like to suppress it.

LOL..Their country.. Their decision..

the same Pakistani members who are screaming freedom of press/speech here, were on the forefront of the mob demanding banning on Indian channels in Pakistan  hypocrisy much ??? ;)
