Indonesia warns of 'mistrust' over US base in Australia, Supports China

how does the hq-9 system compare to the s 300 system?

There are no reason whatsoever for China to invade Australia and in fact both countries have a very cordial business relationship.

ok, so there is no reason to worry about us troops being bases on our soil.. as they have done for decades already??

the usa has no reason to invade china or any other south asian countries?

The answers would be NOs in both of your questions. China understands US and Australia are long time allies and accepts that.

to answer no to my questions would not make any sense.... please detail your response

Just as you said, US has troops in Australia for long time, a few hundred more marines is basically routine. Some media just blew it up. Also I believe US and Australia also have a peace agreement so they are undivided allies.

Your second question is silly. Why would US invade China or any Southern Asian countries for. Unless you mean Middle East....

ok, yes we have the anzus treaty.. in event of an attack.. we both declare war on the other country, same with new zealand also... and america supplies us with hundreds of planes and other military equipment etc etc...

and no, the second question is not silly.. i am merely pointing out that hey if china has no reason to invade australia.. china has no reason to fear invasion from america therefore should not be upset that us troops are stationed here, and for that matter have been for decades on end lol

Aussies can gain the trust from Indonesia by accepting the mass immigration from them.

we already have lots of them here.. and australia accepts more migrants then most countries around the world.. and i am pretty sure per capita we would accept the most migrants out of any other country

1. US can set up their bases in Australia, Vietnam, India or where ever they want as long as those countries agree. It is not a concern.
2. US has invaded Korea and Vietnam. But I don't think they are going to try China. There is bascially no way for a regular war between two nuclear countries. The most possible way if they really want to put China in fire is finding agent country to fight it for them. It's still pretty difficult since Asia is unlike middleeast, there is peace for decades and everyone is busy with their economic boost.

Just a little taste of history for my Australian friends here about the consequences housing foreign military assets in your country.

Back in the cold war era , Australia allowed the US naval fleet to use a base in Exmouth Western Australia including nuclear attack subs. In return Russians had "active" plans to Nuke Perth , in order to take out a small metropolitan city as a warning shot [the most isolated in the S. hemisphere ] without attracting a full scale response from the US.

Do you have a source for this "story" ? It seems a bit far fetched. The U.S has had ships docking here since the 30's

So when you house foreign forces on your ground, you end up on a lot of people's hit lists , even those who won't target you if you remained neutral.Lastly its an internal Australian matter , i have no say in what Australia should or should not do. History proves that hosting foreign boots on your ground does more harm than good.

It's only 2,500 troops here for training. You are over playing the significance.

having 2,500 or 100,000 is the same difference. It is more symbolic than militaristic. It means "we got your back" and attacking aussie means attacking America.

ummm we already have that with us troops and bases here already??

and we have anzus treaty... u attack us it means attacking america.. britain, new zealand and all other commonwealth nations... 2500 troops being permanently based here means nothing

2500 is insignificant, and it is for training purposes and also to help in case of natural distaters etc

No it's not the same. The plan isn't symbolic whatsoever. The world knows the 2 countries are close friends.

The ANZUS treaty was signed in 1951 which stipulates if Australia, New Zealand or the U.S is attacked, the other 2 will automatically come to the other countries aid.

Hey i got a lot of freinds who arnt born here but live here and are as australian as me including roybot.

I am an Australian and I acknowledge my allegiance to both Australia and Pakistan. All of my comments have been against racism. Racism is wrong no matter who practices, whether they are Australian or otherwise.

Oh but your always saying that the australian media is a white racist organization

Although off-topic, it's not just me saying it; there have been discussions of it on Channels Nine and Ten and, soon, SBS Insight.

Do you know everything America does something it is constantly brought up on Pakistani media

America is actively involved in a war next door and launches air raids inside Pakistani territory. And that is not the topic of this thread.

Wrong the topic here is Indonesia concerns about US troops in Australia but nice way to twist it in your favour double standards boy.

The topic here is whether Indonesia should have concerns about Australia's intentions with these troops. Given the way Australia is such a small country and its politics is so easily manipulated by the media, it is imperative to look at the media's role in shaping relations.

The only racist here is you who turns every topic with Australia in it into a racism fest about white australian

My comment was specifically about the media, not Australians at large. The Australian media is decidedly racist and hate-mongering. No two ways about it.

Which i showed you because you accused me of being Indian stop trying to twist crap buddy

Yes, you showed white skin as 'proof' that you are Australian. That is a racist act in itself.
